The problem really is that it's always the same story ('gee the local monsters are acting weird, let's go decimate them to figure out why'). That's not the problem though; while it's yet again the same story here the cutscenes are well done and the dialogue is about on par for MonHun, and if you dislike that they're all skippable.
Wild's problem however is that someone at Capcom clearly wanted a career designing theme park rides, and were let loose on the post-storyboard level/monster introductions. Which means we get 'treated' to around two hours of plodding Seikret rides that you can't skip, quite often can't do anything but move the camera where it wants you to, and are blathered at by a number of characters doing their utter best to win 'dullest tour guide of the year' award in the 'describe the scene the tourist is looking at' category.
It kinda makes sense that you dont have to track monsters because its a direct sequel to world so the hunter already has all the investigation, doesn't make sense for the new monsters you wouldn't have any investigations for tho
I've played since MHFU and I'm having a great time, personally
I actually appreciate a better attempt at a story. It isn't great, sure, but it isn't an unholy abomination like so many others like to claim
And I actually really like the auto run to monsters. It lets me gather and look at the environments. I don't see how that makes it like a mobile game
Ruined? The games are selling amazingly and many of us are having fun. Maybe you're just jaded and want something geared specifically to you?
If you wanna go oldskool' ya gotta wait for master/ultimate to get content you want.
Disregarding performance, my issues are: unlimited access to item box during a hunt (World change), ability to change gear mid-hunt (World change), permanent GPS Tracking Data of every monster in a region including when it's going to leave the area (Rise change), Seikret rescuing you after taking damage (evolution of the Wirefall Rise change), and devolution of Hunter Loadouts from Rise (Wilds change).
Basically, all my issues with the game stemmed from World or Rise, with the only issue from Wilds directly being a step backwards in how Hunter Loadouts are prepared. I really loved being able to have Equipment, item, radial menu, and layered armor all linked to one Loadout (they had a different name, can't remember off the top of my head). So having it all separated again like World feels like step backwards in progress.
Wilds is genuinely a great game if you can get it to run. The performance is absolutely atrocious and the game should not have launched in this state. Capcom should be ashamed, but they broke a bunch of their own records so I don't think they care too much.
this is by far the worst game and its only going to get worse now the children are here to troll in the community and download all the cheat mods and abuse any one who questions the game!

most of the base game is played at high rank and the story ends at low rank
