To the point where I went into options to make it a toggle.
So every single fight this focus mode is on because there is no reason not to use it.
I also don't like the camera lock that happens when it's on.
Clutch claw was wounding a spot and it'll be wounded on that spot for 5 whole minutes.
Now I don't need to do much more other than smacking the monster around.
Monster fights didn't take that long so it was often good enough to do it once on each part you actually where going to hit. A flash bomb or stun gave you more than enough time to wound parts.
Making the wounds a passive effect is a massive QOL change, even if getting materials for every broken wound feels like a bit too much.
Let the ranged guy break it. Focus on your job. Clutch Claw just felt like it became a mandatory gimmick.
You have to use the Focus mode 24/7 in a combat. I don't see how this is much better compared to using the clutch claw once every few minutes.
3 Minutes in Monster hunter is long enough.
There's a crispy laser sound when a wound is opened by anyone and a visual scar and/or white tissue if a wound is about to be opened.
i prefer the wounding mechanic over softening but some of the attacks like the hammers spin or the lances counter from iceborne will be missed.
wall bouncing was alright but it messed with the flow of combat keeping the monsters permanently enraged and requires that you stop fighting repeatedly to try and hop on the monster.
You can turn that into a toggle in the menus.
