Thoughts on Arkveld fight?
Seems like a nice difficulty fight, I like the predictability and patterns of the boss, he seems interesting and fun enough. I'm guessing this level of difficulty won't carry to the actual game cuz most of the difficulty here is the timer,

Seems like a safe bet that the timer will be larger for the full game on top of gear making it far easier to meet the dps check, much how like demo version of Magnamalo was a seriously tight timer compared to the actual release.

you don't need a full timer, you can upgrade weapon liike the old series, they just made us all fight in like default gears

I absolutely loved the fight. It was a blast. He definitely hurts a lot, but the stats are always boosted in betas/demos. He probably won't be melting your health with just a single hit in the full game, unless you have dragon resist in the higher negatives, or if you're under geared for some reason.

I got fairly close, as I got the skull icon on him... but the timer would always run out before I could finish the job.

Also, I saw him have a turf war against Rey Dau. It was fun to watch that, Rey obviously got bodied... But he did get a few hits in.

Same. I've gotten him to his nest 3 times so far, so my dps is just a sliver too short from breaking through, if you cart even once I feel like it costs you up to a minute, especially if it was a zone without a camp nearby. And every minute counts for a lot here.

Trying to solo I wasn't able to beat him. But once I got the hang of his attacks, I managed to squad up and beat him with a leaver and 4 seconds left on the clock.

Second time idk what happened but my attack went from doing 4 DMG from to like 500 DMG from an open wound attack. I really want to replicate that cause we beat him in 8 minutes.

You might have hit multiple wounds at once? What weapon did you use to get those numbers? GS?
It's basically the Primordial Malzeno, same attacks, patterns, openings and probably source model. It's great though.
I finally solo'd him yesterday with the hammer. I had 7 seconds left LOL. Captured him. That run was tight but genuinely fun, and it got me to etch hammer deeper into my DNA.

He's a fair fight, and I LOVE how he mixes it up after he tries to wing strike you. He'll either whip 1 side, whip both sides alternatively, go for the 4 whips down the middle (which typically kills you outright if you're not maxed), or rush you. I've seen him go for 3 alternative whips, and that one really got me.
Not too bad, I didn't think he was all that difficult relative to the gear the beta gives us, but I've also got plenty of experience between GenU, World, and Rise. Me and my friend were able to take him down with just a few hours of beta practice for me and him having basically just started, though we did use up every cart and had just over 30 seconds remaining

Overall I'd say in proper gear for a casual player he'll be a pretty decent challenge but not quite as much of a wall as Magnamalo was for first time players

I couldn't beat him either, but I'm gonna get my sweet revenge on him in the full game. It's gonna be awesome, as I can't wait to fight him again.
was easy to learn and satisfying to put him in the ground

There's a bug with certain weapons' wound attacks (I know Charge Blade and Gunlance at least) where hitting a wound at the same time as another player can do this. Team Darkside put up a sub-2 minute kill today where it happened.

I personally had fun improving my time for a while and learning how to i-frame roll all his moves reliably. He's very telegraphed and thus extremely fair. I got my solo charge blade time down to 12 minutes and change (capture, no rocks), which isn't exactly impressive, but it's a far cry from barely capturing in the last seconds or timing out like I did initially.

Don't let it get you down, always keep in mind that the flagship fight in the beta is basically fighting a 5-star monster with equipment you start the game with. It'll be a lot more forgiving when you're wearing armor and using weapons that are actually good
