I remember playing Breath of the Wild and being thrilled when I found something new and loving when I solved the puzzles built into the world. Outer Wilds is that experience, but distilled, without all the endless wandering through samey open space, wrapped up in a package that is a wonderful mix of cozy and relaxing campfire tunes, cosmic archaeology, and terrifying clashes with forces of nature that are so, so much larger than you.

Even when you have no goal, you will find interesting things and want to explore them, and that will lead you finding a place you can't reach, or a story about another place you can go. Everything makes you want to see more, and the feeling of finally piecing clues together and understanding how to make things work in the way you need is endlessly rewarding.

Outer Wilds is an experience I wish so badly I could relive from the beginning knowing nothing about the game. Do yourself a favor and DON'T look up any hints, don't cheat yourself out of anything; just explore more and check the ship log if you are stuck. The experience is worth it.

I highly recommend the DLC if you like the game, by the way, but don't bother to purchase it or attempt to start its content until you have completed the main game.
