Before you say 4u is best, wait till expansion for this game cause 4u is essentially what the master edition was for World

Otherwise 4 without U was okay fyi.

The main thing that 4/4u had was its roster size.

I think the Open World and Mounting will make it feel a bit worse as a MH game, as MHs general gameplay loop doesn´t benefit from either of those, but it´ll prolly still be up there, especially if they bring back more of my fav monsters

Best ever most likely no Id say probably better than world and I put world towards the top of the middle. Personally for me the first one still hold the throne I don't think any mosnter hunter will be able to top that first experience trying to take out a kut ku using the right analog stick to attack.

I felt the same with Rise and the traversal bugs. While fun for a little while, it got old really fast. Mounting and two weapons are going to change the game quite a bit. And the DLC is going to enhance either both, or at least the moveset/combo's between the two weapons (likely).

Wish your logic was right. But Rise was not better than World. It had a few better features but it was not the better game. It was too arcade.

for real tho - ehhh around 31 monsters for the release version isnt mindblowing. i wish they actually surprassed the standards they set with the old games like a decade+ ago

So far yes it will be the best one. We loved world way too much, this is world but with more and better. Not a single negative stuff, hype is huge.
