That said, if the monster roster is what bothered you most about World it seems like they're trying to make things more varied in Wilds so hopefully it won't just become wyvern/elder dragon hunter like World was.
Tower defense (Rampages)
Wirebug (no skill movement ability)
Weebee anime (Dual Blades manifested into an entire game!)
Terrible music
It's no wonder World had 10x the playerbase AFTER Rise was released. People couldn't stand Rise!
These have me worried because theres already so many ways to approach a fight with all the gimmiks mentioned above that the weapons themselfs are going to get left behind ,all these gimmiks point to a more strategic combat but in a game that u are going to fight the same monsters many times the gimmiks would become old fast.
On the other hand, the fights are so different one from another and the addition of weapon swap and more fluid weapon would make for the lack of switch skills and silk bind moves.
I think that if capcom polish the weapons to feel more fluid and with better rythm we might not need switch skills to have a good hunt.
I found Rise too gimmicky, too fast and just a bit too much OTT for my liking.
And that's fine, the portable games are meant to be more laid back and "fun".
I just prefer the slower, more serious gameplay of World and Wilds.
This. Sales and player count backs this up.
This caused the player count to drop, creating a feedback loop. Then when mixed with the return to World campaign, no duh Wold has a higher player count on steam.
