As for whether it would be good, maybe they could find a way to make it work with modern hardware and better controls, but it would have to be pretty much flawless in execution for people to accept it.
And to people who said it sucked, it did and it didn't. You just needed to play on the wiiU with specific weapons and it could really add to the hunt..... But otherwise yah it kinda sucked.
its not that crazy to expect it in a new game soon though, they have been trying to bring back lagiacrus for a while and there is a huge load of opportunity for new marine-based monster and area designs, plus all the upgrades theyve done for verticality. reminder that we had underwater before IG or even mounting, half the work for it is basically already there, just need to fit it together. I really dont understand the people who think it would be 1:1 the exact same as it was when it was first introduced, as if literally anything else in the game is lol.
The outer space expansion.
Monster Hunter Tri is the best Monster Hunter Game ever, Underwater was the best part of the game, i loved it, you wouldnt understand it,
Monster hunter got easy once they removed it,
Underwater fights are hard and scary, fishing out the pufferfish and then watching him cry and crawl back to water was funny, and epic to see,
Bring back Water Please, Monster Hunter will be hard again
It's not in at launch, so it's not going to be added in an expansion either. Underwater combat is akin to building an entire second combat system with 14 different weapons.
The art for weapons might be able to be reused but attacks and everything else mechanical would have to be COMPLETELY reworked.
Consider the scope of Iceborne and Sunbreak and you should probably be able to see how something as LARGE as an ENTIRE second combat system is out of scope. It's WAY beyond adding a few more moves per weapon, a new biome and some new monsters.
Cross your fingers and hope it returns in as spinoff that's only underwater combat. That's the only way I see it returning. If Capcom wanted to reuse the feature for another main series game it would have happened by now considering how frequently MH borrows ideas from itself.
I think the reason most people hated the rampage fights was because all the menu navigating and turret aiming you had to do. This is antithetical to controller players and melee players. But as a keyboard and mouse bow main, I was in my element.
