Perfect Guard need a Nerf
Currently Perfect guard is way too OP, it makes the Guard skill insignificant, even the weakest smallest Shield (SnS), could perfect guard strong attack with ignorable knockback and continue its combo. Currently with perfect guard, theres almost no diffrent with smallest SnS or biggest shield (Lance). Perfect guard dont gives chip damage when activated? sure, but it shouldnt give knockback reduction and stamina spend reduction too much, guard skill should be mandatory if wanting PG without knockback, especially guard now only need 3 lvl to max.
Why lots of people say Wild is too easy? its because with Perfect Guard and Offset attack, people could guard without knockback and instantly continues their combo without any related skill required. for balance, just like Perfect guard, Offset attack itself should also need specific skill similar to guard skill to be able to parry strong attack without knockback and continues theyre combo, if without these skill, a successfull parry to a 'Strong attack' will left the hunter stay at a knockback animation.

Yeah, I agree with this, it's pretty much the same problem with Adept Guard in GenUlt

Well yeah this is a common opinion, basically perfect guard is ok but should not be given for free - it should scale with Guard and when you have Guard 3 then it would be as it currently is. Right now it's free block for every shield weapon

yeah, this is what balance should be, need guard 3 for strong attack, guard 2 for normal attack and guard attack for light attack, and Offset attack should also need a skill like guard, it currently also parrying any attack ignoring its a light or strong attack and continues theyre combo without care about knockback level.
You already need guard levels for bigger attacks, even with perfect guards.

I think offset is in a better state because it's much harder to time and has an internal cooldown. PG has no such thing and is braindead to do

If your only concern is to negate knockback (which is the main consideration for most players), 0 guard is needed, PG will eliminate all knockback even at 0 guard. Are you confusing PG with guard points?

Thats not what he is saying. He wants perfect guard to be nerfed so that its required to have guard and guard up, but that fundamentally makes it no different than a normal block with those skills

This would make the greater risk involved with perfect guarding basically worthless. Perfect guard would be worthless.

if you were gonna nerf ANYTHING about it it'd have to be the frame window. You can't reduce the effect or else it basically shouldn't even exist.

edit: I don't actually want them to nerf it to be clear. If you really want it to be dependant on equipment skills, you could lower the base frame window but have guard or guard up make it more forgiving again, kind of like Evade Window.

Nice try, but monsters actually keep up with Adept Guard in GU than in Wilds.

Why are we campaigning to make shield weapons worse first when we have LS with 30 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frames of invincibility in one move + like 2 other counters and ranged weapons which (used to be) safer and probably still are?
OP is lance main and just hating on SnS
