MH used to be a smaller franchise so they could cater to a smaller niche fanbase.
Now its not so they have to cater to a bigger fanbase.
Humans as a rule dont like to lose, they like to win.
They enjoy the illusion of challenge, satisfying resistence not an actual wall.
So the new people get their easier game, capcom gets their money and the oldschool fans get to see the franchise get much fancier than it ever would have been.
The cost of this is the games are gonna be easier/faster/more streamlined.
This is just the way the works, and also who cares lol, as long as you're having fun, that's the only thing that matters in a video game!
I am convinced Monster Hunter Rise is hardest.
Removing everything that made the series niche to begin with, especially animation commitment has meant that all skill and difficulty has gone down with each new iteration.
I'm sorry you feel like the game's early stages being made more accessible makes you feel like you aren't the sole person the franchise is being made to please and that you, in fact, share this franchise with millions of other people, most of us wanting the game to be more accessible to newer players while ramping up harder later on, but you aren't actually the only person monster hunter exists to please lmao
They already announced that they felt they undertuned end game a bit and are going to be giving resilience buffs to 8 stars and make them harder to wound, and they're going to continue to add more difficult content as the game's lifespan goes on. Just like Rise and World.
If you're that mad about it, then go away and come back when MR is added.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pace-breaking animations and tedium was not "skill". No monster hunter game has ever been particularly hard. You are conflating "the game actively resists being played" with "this game is hard and me beating it makes me skilled". The older games have aged like milk in most respects, and yet because the core gameplay loop is so good, they still shine regardless. Wilds' systems are the best moment to moment gameplay the series has ever had, all they have to do is exactly what they already announced they're doing: re-tuning things to make the new systems less omnipresent and give monsters more durability against them.
They're supposed to. They're less durable in exchange for way more aggression and faster attack patterns.
