Charge Blade updates and improvements.
Like many i been playing the Charge Blade and it has become my main weapon since.

Currently on wilds i dare to say its in one of its most fun states to date, not only you are encouraged to use both sword and shield mechanics (clash atacks), having the savage axe and sword charge at your disposal at all times makes it worth it to switch between both when needed, but also savage axe has become SO satisfying with the chainsaw like mode, at least for me. With that in mind tough, i still feel there are some things that need to be adressed and discused.

Damage wise i feel the weapon overal its in a good place, the combos are good, reliable and you have something for every ocation, perhaps the sword do feels a bit short sometimes, but the axe mode compensates for this with longer altought slower atacks. The main concern i bring today to my brothers and sisters its a particular one, that being SAED.

Altought i wont lie i was one of those who used it indiscriminately before for big damage, i welcome the trade in current gameplay, it feels more dinamic, agressive and rewarding, but damage wise im not sure if im the only one who feels the SAED simply feels...mid to somewhat weak. With this IM NOT asking to have other factors or atacks nerfed, on the contrary im curious what people tink it can be done about this.

Damage wise i feel the SAED doesnt have as much OMP as beffore, neither on damage, not on impact when using savage axe seems to have better results, so my question its.

Do you guys feels the SAED its worth it on its current state or should it be buffed/adjusted on some way?.

Keep in mind im talking about the raw vertion without a full fledged gem/armor set.

IN my personal oppinion i wouldnt mind it have a little bit more damage in general, a higher number on elemental OR impact or maybe even a mixture of both.

With that in mind i been wondering something, i know the overphylial its meent to increase the damage and all that, but what if we had a new bar that fills out and allows a particularly BIG SAED, something that works in tandem with the charge of phials to give one big boost to the SAED and ONLY SAED, something you have to work torught the fight and charge for a particular bif satisfying discharge, something aking that every time you charge a full 5 phial bar you get one extra mark or something, and when you fill at least 3 of those (kind of like the already overcharge) when doing the SAED this increases the damage/range/impact (maybe only one depending on the type of CB you use), would you tink that would be a cool mechanic or just adding more layers to an already quite technical weapon.

I feel like Charge Blade hasn't really changed much even with the over charge phials. You're just finally waking up and realizing SAED isn't even the goal.
Last thing a charge blade needs is more damage. It is currently one of the top on the list in terms of damage output. What else do you want? It dominates already.

SAED still works good only the path to get to it for better damage has changed.

After savage axe mode my goal becomes to get overcharged, then a (full circle) or (B) combo until he does the back twist swing from the first charged hit. then i SAED.

pumps out big numbers.

100% agree, imo charge blade has never felt worse to play, I get why other people like it but it's not for me anymore.

Yep, it's not for me anymore as well

I like it, savage axe is fun, it also dunks on most other weapons in terms of damage and style.
The charge blade has always been one of the most skill-hungry weapons and it was severely nerfed in Wilds since you cannot use offensive decos in armor anymore, so your selection of skills that benefit the weapon is very thin.
It's still fun to use, but you kill faster with other weapons.

What? Charge blade is always top 3 in speedrunning. You can still fit dmg decos in armor, never heard of weakness exploit?

We basically have MH4U CB in this game:
-Sword counterattack/AED head sniping style exists and is strong. Fishing for perfect guards in neutral is very similar to fishing for raw GPs in MH4U, where you can't guard early and still GP.
-Axe can be played as main mode with evasion style, which gives vertical reach and faster access to big attacks but suffers for mobility; tends to be more worthwhile for monsters that don't have punish windows after guarding and have openings when you get behind/under them during attacks.
-SAED can be real, but only for elemental or when you really really want the burst KO damage at the cost of DPS, and elemental is only better for a few monsters. (Still can hit about 6000 damage on Gravios/3000 on Raths/etc.)
-ED2 is your highest DPS move (you actually do get higher DPS looping AAY in Wilds than AAAA, but the two loops have different peaks and AAYA will be behind AAAA if you don't get the next move off.)
-Status CBs are super strong

The main difference is that savage axe exists, but it's kind of a superficial thing, like it doesn't actually change what do the most damage. Also, because the current monsters are too easy to stagger and don't have enough HP, sword counterattack loses a lot of the power it should have (with Offensive Guard being a completely busted skill), but we'll get to see this get stronger with Master Rank or other ways of making monsters get more attacks off.
