Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds

Be honest - what does MH:Wilds have over MH:World?
I played World a lot and I loved it, but optimization issues aside from Wilds I haven't really felt the pull to buy Wilds that much. So for those that have played Wilds for a while...

How would you compare the two? Where does Wilds shine in comparison to the latter? Where does World shine over Wilds?

Personally I love Wilds just as much as World. I am happy they removed clutch claw from the game and the wound system is good. I also like how almost all the weapons feel, as they are faster and more responsive across the board and offset attacks feel so satisfying (the only change that I don't like personally is CB which I don't enjoy here as much as I did in the other games).

Graphics are beautiful, but there are some performance issues I see people talking about, mainly in mid-end pcs (I don't have any performance issues myself but I have a high-end system). I don't know why people are now saying World looks better, I remember during launch, a lot of people complained about washed up colors and ended up using reshades and other things.

Lastly, I think the roster, even though it has variety, is way too small, Yes World had 30 monsters with plenty of reskins, but having the Elder beasts fights was more than enough. Now it feels more like a waiting room for title updates rather than a complete experience (I am currently HR 118 and have been farming the same monster way more compared to World's Elder beasts).

IMO if someone is unsure about Wilds, better hold off until the expansion drops for g-rank / master rank hunts. What is there in plenty fun but they need to add more content, especially with armor variety in terms of skills etc.

Swinging a greatsword around is actually likely to hit the enemy now. That's the main difference.

Which completely removed the satisfaction of landing a TCS

Lmfao what? Missing it 80% of the time was more satisfying than actually landing the hit? Okay sure :)

As a hammer main I'm still sad that clutch claw was removed. Hammer just doesn't feel the same without being able to beyblade through the sky at mach 3 towards Anjanath's face.

Now you just do it off a bird from 9000 feet in the sky instead. Or down a hill. Or as part of wound breaking.

But I will admit at face value the hammer seems to have gotten less love. I miss storing charges.
Doggy doo doo performance. Rework of weapon mechanics, rework of gameplay mechanics, new monsters, new variants, large uninstanced open world, and more

On paper the game is better, but something feels off. No vibrant and original areas, the game is very greyish/brownish, no indecent amount of beautiful plates full of food, no room with wildlife to reward you to actually chase them, no real quests to hunt for wildlife, areas are not really interesting to explore, monsters don't seem to really live that much in the areas, turf wars are extremely rares, hub is... sad, to say the least, too much plot that doesn"t focus much on monsters, no ecology introductions...

I like the game outside of the very problematic technical issues, but while there's heart in the game, the souls is not totally here imo.
Cba to respond to this in-depth, but some of these things are actually in the game, and others could potentially be added in future updates

I do wish the Fallow was more of a short, transitional state as opposed to its own, unique season tbh. In most of the locales, it isn't TOO different from the Inclemency and you get tired of how washed-out it is. Fortunately, you do see more of the Plenty going into HR, so that's nice at least

Monsters lacking little details like Worldborne is a bit of a shame, but it's a small thing at the end of the day. I personally think this game is full of plenty of soul considering how many throwbacks to older games there are

I make a direct comparison with rotten vale and coral highland, which were both very unique.
They're also the only unique areas of Worldborne, and had entire areas which were highly under-utilised. Wilds doesn't have that problem to nearly the same degree as far as I have seen, so I see it as a sort of one step forward and one step back sort of deal :P

I found that Scarlet Forest had some little "secrets" (as in the good old cave behind a waterfall trope), and then there's Rove's hideout on Iceshard Cliffs, and ig maybe the geode area in the Plains? But that's about it as far as map secrets go. I never cared for map secrets myself but it is a shame to see them mostly gone

The roster is abysmal.
Opinion so bad it's almost objectively wrong. The roster is one of the best things about this game

>Turf wars are extremely rate
> Me getting a Turf War popup even when I'm not in the area to see it

They happen, the thing is they happen in the world organically instead of being triggered by player interaction/location. How you feel about this kind of thing entirely depends on what you consider immersive and/or where you stand on the subject of realism; it's unrealistic to expect that everything that happens in a world revolves around you being present to witness it.

No clutch claw and a more varied roster.
No clutch claw is basically why base wilds is 10 times better than worldborne.

the problem with clutch claw is it made the game too easy but hunts still took 10 years longer than wilds with the clutch claw, I'm at HR 50+ and I haven't failed a single hunt, I probably have 5 deaths total and half was from falling asleep, I'm not some pro, the game is basically just an action game now, this is way worse than what the clutch claw did to worlds.

Everyone's so thankful there's no clutch claw in the game that does absolutely nothing to challenge them in the first place.
clutch claw is gone!!!!!
Crutch claw is gone
Weapons are smoother to use overall, few exceptions.

Farming mats is easier and done as you chase.

Layering is done better and less time consuming.
Carrying 2 weapons is a game changer
The hot/cold drinks are back. That is awful, why bring down QoL with those?
Full Layered armor before post game master rank

The roster is trash compared to world, also the too many "hub" areas are clunky and the map ui is terrible

No clutch claw, better story, better graphics, more realistic environments, streamlined mechanics, better weapon movesets, better slinger ammo, and most importantly, no clutch claw.

Did I mention no clutch claw?

The story in wilds is terrible
Demon King Tanjiro eredeti hozzászólása:
Wilds is too easy, nothing fun about just beating monsters with no skill involved.

No clutch claw and a more varied roster.
More varied roster? No, where are all the monsters at? Your new game should have better than the last and this does not do that.
Varied doesn't mean more, pretty much all the monsters in world were just dragons.
Thanous eredeti hozzászólása:
Nothing at all world is better in every way, but I have done everything in world already so I am playing this crapper version instead right now. I also thought rise was inferior as well, but I thought it sucked because it was originally made for the switch, seems they peaked in world and are going backwards. The characters in wilds look like they belong in dragon age vanguard

to any1 with less than 16 hours saying world is better: you haven't even played the game
