Are you serious?
Though, based on my experience of Monster Hunter World, it's not necessarily over when you think it's over. What did you actually beat? The story? Because these games usually have most of the content AFTER that.
Heck, some might even go as far as to ask why play the base game at all, given that any challenge can only come with the expansion pack (and excuse Wilds apologists have actually already rolled out), which will not be released for 12~18 months! 🥴
Hoping this is the 'early access,' and more stuff is coming later. A bit disappointed.
I am still on my second playthrough and have like seen only 30% of the game. And that is since release. It is anything but short.
Isn't the whole point of MH to grind for and upgrade your gear in order to tackle more and more difficult challenges?
MH is not Dark Souls. Never was.
Felt like they coud just do LR and HR story together like in World, that's why endgame World felt longer. They fleshed out so that every monster had a cutscene/story lore included.
Wilds had great HR monsters but not seeing them introduce like World or RIse makes it underwhelming. Gore was great storyline tho
When you say out of the gate, do you also mean the Iceborne expansion? Its been a bit since I played base World so I do not remember how it is compared to base Wilds. But Iceborne added hundreds of hours of content for me. I still have 3 hunts I have yet to finish solo - Furious Rajang, Alatreon, and Fatalis.
I finished this base game in a little over 24 hours. I am hoping when Wilds gets its larger expansion, it will be more like Iceborne in terms of difficulty and added content.
24 hours for the base game? How???
Do you mean it took too long? When I say base game, I mean "beating" the game. Post game content took about 35 hours total - which to me ends at Tempered Arkveld and Tempered Gore Magala.
The systematic weapon quality of life improvements as well as fluidity of combat in this title makes it relatively easier than what I experienced in Iceborn. That said, I enjoy this game quite a bit. There are so many little quality of life improvements that make exploring and playing this game more enjoyable in many ways. I hope when Wilds expansion comes out that it will add more of a challenge like Iceborne did for World.
Looking past Wilds flaws, I do enjoy this game and think there have been many improvements in aspects of Monster Hunter.
I mean it seems near impossible to finish it that quickly with the normal story progression.
Oh. I guess it actually isn't that near impossible if I managed to do it lol. Maybe because I had lots of experience from the prior Monster Hunter World: Iceborne content it made this game quite easy in terms of moving the story. I also skipped most cutscenes. Though now, seeing how short (in my experience) the story was, maybe I should have watched the cutscenes. I know some people took time to make the scenes, and though those things are usually not my cup of tea, it would not hurt me to watch it and find things I can appreciate from it. If anything, someone did the work to make those scenes and record the dialogue.
