These World-like Monster Hunter games just aren't it.
Rise is the right direction, the original direction, on where Monster Hunter should go.

nice bait. Rise was worse than World. fun, yes. but worse.
Only problem is that World sold more and effectively captured a more casual crowd to feed off of.
I like both. World is more fun when I want to take my time and actually hunt things down, while Rise is more fun when I just wanna get right into it and fight a dinosaur with a giant sword. Personally, if they alternated them between more sim-ish and more arcadey, I'd be fine with it.

Rise is fine, World is fine, Wilds is fine, they are all still monster hunter, but the last great Monster Hunter game was Generations Ultimate.

I mean, that's purely a matter of opinion, isn't it? Personally, I don't consider World better than Rise. They were both fun, but I felt World, for as great as it was, deviated from the Monster Hunter formula more than I'd like, and Rise felt like a step back toward it.

World was infinitely better than rise.

That said this game feels like a step down from world. My weapon combo for LS just feels very jank now, and the targeting mode seems to be pretty janky as well.

Also they STILL make it very annoying to play with your friends, and the UI for the menu's is quite bad.

I didn't like rise's combat that much, but so far It's looking like even Rise's combat was better.

"nice bait", are we not allowed to share our opinions? i started MH 12 years ago and i can understand why he feels that way, world and wilds are different and are for a different audiences, this is your right to not like the path its taking

I think this game is f*cking awesome. It does a lot better than World, but I won't lie, there are a lot of things from World that I wish was in here.

Either way, besides performance issues, I'm extremely pleased with the game so far. Probably gonna be the next big one for me, after Elden Ring. Tons of hours I can see being put into this. lol
They are two completely different teams. The next MonHun game will be made by the team that made Rise/Sunbreak. The 2nd team is the one that makes the arcade-type games that favor that "pick up and play for short periods" vibe. The team that made Wilds is not the team that made Rise/Sunbreak.

I hated Rise. It was too easy and way too fast-paced, but I do prefer a more compact MH
rise is the complete opposite of what original monster hunter was. have peopleswing around with magic ropes like anime charater
