What? You don't want to clean up elder dragon snot for an hour until you can fight it?
CASUAL!
notice the lack of tracking requirement, all you have to do is follow that big gorilla and smack it around
Paintballs were only useful once you found the monster. Psychoserum showed you the monsters on the map for a couple of seconds.
Monster Fighter Milds literally gives you permanent map markers, GPS, and an uber.
Game play is completely different.
Edit: It even lets you pick up fast food on the way.
Do you think these rednecks are out there sniffing deer ♥♥♥♥ and following game trails? No. They're sitting in their old faithful tree stand pounding a twelve pack of Busch Lite.
your misunderstanding of what hunting is isn't on anyone but you.
the gameplay is quite literally the same, psy serium was in the first game, afterall.

In other news, this is my first MH game so hah
No longer about hunting monsters? Friend, MH1 was you go outside of town with a target from the guild. Find the target and throw a paintball at it. Attack the target, then chase it back to wherever the hell it went and slay it.
What is the difference from, select a target, look at the map to see the target and go to it?
Answer? You take out the tedium. There was no hunting aspect of monster hunter, you simply learned about the monster. Its attacks, its weaknesses etc and of course, what you could acquire from it. The CLOSEST hunting we got, was in world, because you didn't know where it was until you knew more information about it, but the scout flies did the rest. If you want to play a hunting game about hunting big monsters/dinosaurs, play prehistoric hunt. You can follow the footsteps, sounds and droppings to your hearts content.
