$500/500€ worth of DLC'S on day one? Pay to win dlc's?
Let's see if Capcom will do the same as they did with Dragon's Dogma 2 and add tons of micro transaction stuff on day one.

Edit: There is currently more than 540€ worth of dlc's on Monster Hunter: World.
I guess we can expect the same for Monster Hunter Wilds...

Edit 2:
Thanks to Dante post #22, it appears that Capcom already have some sketchy dlc's planned for day one.
As you can see here:

https://steamdb.info/app/2246340/dlc/

Some people might consider those dlc's pay to win, if you remember the Dragon's Dogma 2 launch I guess we can expect the same kind of riot.
Ammo packs, ingredient packs, aid packs, not looking good so far...

People are fanboying hard cuz it's monster hunter
while also downplaying the disgusting practices of the company behind it.

In the end, I personally do not care about the Macrotransactions, but that disgusting trend simply ruins all fun in games over time. And capcom is not immune to that either.

But yes, please keep fanboying over this stuff, downplaying it and some day just hating every 'game' being made with those in mind as high priority wondering how we got there.

Viewing bad practices critically does not make a person an enemy of your blind fandom.
It does not impact the game either. So not sure where all the defensive stances come from outright excusing bad behavior. Guess we are drones~

More made up titles.
Pay to win dlc was confirmed to not be there. Whether they can make 500$ of cosmetics, I very much doubt, but it is at least possible.
Monster Hunter have always had some cosmetic crap released for money.

But on the other hand they will update their games with a roadmap to release more monsters, challenges and also event quests that unlocks things that actually affect gameplay - for free.
The amount of free DLC quests that gives a cool armour etc for MH3, MH4, MHG and World is crazy compared to other games you buy.

So I don't care if a goofy Handler Halloween outfit is paid content. They can offer it and people can decide to pay for it.

Getting extra consumable items at the start of the game like slinger ammo and potions doesn't seem like a "pay to win" deal either, especially so if gathering is as easy as some reviewers have said.

PS, also the Resident Evil Tyrant skin for the Handler was peak DLC.

I lost a single brain cell when OP wrote "Pay to Win" in a MH game, does the ammo packs one shot kill Monsters? Does the ingredients boost 1000% to ATK?

Lose brain cells all you want, either you like it or not, dlc's that provide pay to skip advantages are considered pay to win by many. Is it as bad as gacha trash or true pay to win games? Not at all but it shouldn't be there in a buy to play game that cost 69,99€ in the first place.

Not by many and, those that do would be incorrect.
Especially in a game that isnt even PVP focused nor has any PVP at all.

Pay2Win specifically is a term used to describe a power disparity between paying players and non paying players, which just doesnt exist here, not to mention that even if they gave you crafting materials, youd have to play the game to even unlock the stuff to craft it

At best those packs are the most minor of time saver
A farce of a complaint lol dragons dogma 1 sold the very same DLC and it's all hot garbage dlc that is obtainable in game, none of it was pay to win and your a sucker if you bought it 🤣 plus it had $22 dollars of purchases very limited.

If you bought every cosmetic in worlds or rise you're also a fool, cuz you can't even wear it all at once so why? Pointless when the game has 100s of sets of layered armor that look better. So yeah let em sell cosmetics they give us new monsters and hunts all free which is what I care about. Or would you rather pay $5 a pop for hunts rofl

Pay for convenience=pay to skip = pay to win. Capcom knows full well that some vulnerable gamers will buy into those scam packs, that's why they exist. As I said earlier we can probably gather the resources in those packs by just playing the game. The fact they just exist is scummy in my opinion.

No I already have the deluxe edition, that's good enough for me, I'm not a die hard fan of the franchise.

Look man, you dont have to like that they exist,
but incorrectly labeling them as pay to win just is gonna make no one take you seriously.

What advantages will they have? To skip a gathering quest or 2 🤣 unless they are selling them items we cannot obtain they have 0 advantage, unless your goal is to be the first speed runner to beat the game or something it's no advantage. A fool and their money is soon parted, if someone buys these that's on them.

Jeez, So they step up their game again eh?
Guess we will see progression booster pack like one in RE4R soon.
I mean most of the materials you can just get by playing anyway since the game is all about explore the world hunting material, these DLC buying or not doesn't affect me at all

So how would you label them if not pay to win? It reduce the grind or chores of gathering stuff so it's kinda pay to win.

They probably won't go as far as selling endgame boost, they would receive way too much hate if they did.

Yes we can get the materials by just playing the game, it does affect gamers that don't really know what they are buying. Kind of a scam tbh.
