But it isn't like LBG and HBG are particularly weak either.
The way Rapid Fire works has been changed considerably, though not necessarily for the worse... since it now uses the special gauge and has to be activated / deactivated. For both Bowguns though the gauge charges a lot faster than in World. HBG can use Wyvernheart quite a lot during a hunt. Rapid Pierce is great for large monsters, and Normal Ammo now fires multiple shots PER shot regardless, so Rapid Normal is like an automatic rifle on burst mode.
Plus we've got infinite Normal / Pierce / Spread ammo now (as well as Infinite Coatings), so it has all become a bit more mindless.
I've been toying with a specialised Pierce HBG, alternating between regular Pierce ammo and Wyvernheart... and it utterly trivialises big targets like Uth Duna.
You have to have much better spacing and you need to focus on element on the bowguns to get the same results as just using the Guardian Doshaguma bow and dancing around like a lunatic.
bow in wilds is super good andim loving it but HBG/LBG are both just not it currently.
