Why does Alma(the new handler) wear modern glasses?
Am I the only one who noticed this?
It’s not just the glasses, even her clothes look like something a 21st-century New Yorker would wear. Could Monster Hunter be set in a post-apocalyptic world?

Other characters with glasses have all had antique frames, so Alma’s look is very strange and stands out.

Why this design choice? Is it a mistake, or is there really a change in the story direction?

It's just set in an "alternate world", you can't really apply our timeframe to theirs.

And I would argue that Monster Hunter is most definitely "currently apocalyptic" lol

Could it have something to do with the movie and dimensional travel? Is the movie canon?

It is set in a post apocalyptic world. Ancient civilization is a thing.

I think the movie is 'canon adjacent' lol.

Bits of it are somewhat canonical, and lots of it are open to Directors artistic freedom.

It's a giant 'what if' Monster Hunter side quest basically. What if part of the US army ended up in Monster Hunter?

Bazelgeuse is definitely a distant evolution from the B-52 bomber plane

Don't ever mention the movie again, the sooner we forget about that abomination the best.

Yes its post apocalyptic.
Fatalis is the reason why they've revolved their hunts in needs and necessity instead of wants.

When do you think glasses and cloths were invented op?
Poyzo Nov 20, 2024 @ 7:41pm
They dropped from a monster, duh!
i think its mainly her jacket that looks weird, not her glasses
forget about her though, she looks perfectly fine next to the abomination that is that default palico armour. surely im not the only one who finds that ugly as all hell? i think the very first thing i did in the beta after scouring the settings menus was changing that out

Also god no the MH movie isnt canon, are you kidding me? they literally use Generic Alien Spider Model #11493718 instead of actual nerscyllas you guys. The fanfiction i read years ago that set MH in our real world that had a telepathic alatreon freeze people inside magic crystals that melted thousands of years later was more canonical than this piece of trash, and you better believe it was better written too

Well, the outfit and glasses make it seem like she come from another dimension. If it's not the same dimension as the movie, it's some similar situation.

Geralt(from The Witcher) was in MH: World, through a dimensional portal.
In MH: Now there are dimensional portals too. So, dimensional portals seem to be canon or the main direction.

a crossover event and a spinoff mobile game had portals, therefore portals = "the main direction"? uh, what? I think you should re-check your relationship with logic my friend
