If you are still not convinced, you have the old monster hunters of psp xDDD
My recommendation is to get GU on the Switch (or emulate it). 4th Gen was Peak MonHun
Generations was more like Rise in that it added combat arts and made game more gimmick focused than purely combat.
Also 4U's flagship game mechanic (frenzy virus) was a very fun mechanic to deal with as it had various effect depending on if you are effected vs if enemy is.
Worlds changed how the games feel so world, rise, and wilds are closest (with wilds being more world than rise as rise dumbed game down a lot)
MHtri on wii and 3U on wiiu are great games for not handhelds. 4U is best of handhelds. generations if you liked rise.
I think the combat is closer to World overall because the game doesn't have Wirebugs, which were the main combat mechanic of Rise.
Rise has switch skills, but I think some of the stuff from those 'kits' has been mixed into each weapon's normal kit in Wilds. Don't quote me on that though.
Additionally Wilds has the Seikret which offers similar functionality as the Palamute.
But there is also Focus Mode, which is Wilds own thing.
So I'd say Wilds is like 50% World, 25% Rise and 25% it's own thing.
But still mostly like 80% world.
