Pricing?
why are people so shocked at the price, like it hasn't been a staple of AAA games to charge this much for the past 10 years.
At least its not a yearly releases like most AAA games so we can expect better value in updates and free dlc, like with world and rise were there was a bunch of extra content post-launch.
People seem to be forgetting that we get a lot of content with these games and in recent years, 1 giant dlc that massively improves upon the base game.
And I know an extra £30 for cosmetics in the premium edition is insane, at least it's optional and doesn't give an in game advantage to those who do buy it.
I am just genuinely confused at why people seem to be surprised by the pricing.

so why are the cost for PC version 69.99€ and for Console 79.99€?

The point that I've established is that they are charging well above the normal price for a AAA game that has nothing to do with the value of the Canadian dollar.

I dunno about in Canada, but here in America we had people DEMANDING $15 an hour to flip burgers. Some states cave to pressure and now McDonald's workers are getting $15 an hour. It's only going up since these same folks are now DEMANDING $20 an hour to keep up with inflation. Now everything goes up: food, utilities, rent, insurance, and yes, even video games!

You got the process backwards. People want to earn more specifically because they cannot afford basic needs. More than half of full time fast food workers are on public assistance programs, while McDonalds for example makes billions in profits, and billions more year over year. That means you are helping pay for the workers' food, utilities, rent, insurance, etc, so that McDonalds doesn't have to.

Inflation. Everything costs more.

In the 90's video games cost $40. Anybody remember that? Folks were getting paid between $7.50-$9.00 an hour USD. So technically we should be paying $80 for video games nowadays.

40 bucks? Nah. Some of them maybe. But just a quick Google search reveals that Mario 64 was 60 dollars.

Small sample size but I'm sure you'll find plenty of higher priced games unless it's from no-name franchises at the time.

Cost is always relative so it's fair to point out that every other triple AAA game in the top selling list is listed for far less. What about this game justifies a 9% higher price than the average established AAA price?

Then modern AAA games should be coming out at $120 in today's market.

inflation is the excuse the AAA landscape uses to justify the new AAA price point, without leaving out the fact that there are about 30x more gamers out there willing to buy these games compared to the old days where it was niche.

games were expensive back then, they are probably appropriately priced at 60 bucks a person. but then again it's a capitalist hellscape, people WILL pay 70 bucks for it, no matter the quality, no matter the post launch monetization, no matter the ownership details, and as long as that happens they will get away with anything.

$104 normal
$134 delux
$164 premium
AUD

Just be happy with the game being around 70-90 in your currency.
im still gonna get the premium being almost 200 lol.
ive enjoyed world,rise,stories etc

i think its normal price for a new main tile mon hunter game lol as long as it comes full of content and they do the normal free dlc and monster hunts im fiine with the price and tbh is one of the reasons i rate the franchise as one of the best on the market

Exactly, we should keep in mind that games used to be distributed on cartridges which were expensive to build and ship.

I would assume that publishing on console has extra fees to be on the platform so they charge more.
but that kinda sounds stupid so maybe it's just because they can.

For my region AAA games on Steam have been 60 euros on avg. This one is 70e.
Not a fan of this asking price. That's a lot of money. The game better be bigger and better than MH: World.

I could for example pay my monthly ISP and electricity bill with 70e to put it in perspective.
