why are people so shocked at the price, like it hasn't been a staple of AAA games to charge this much for the past 10 years.
At least its not a yearly releases like most AAA games so we can expect better value in updates and free dlc, like with world and rise were there was a bunch of extra content post-launch.
People seem to be forgetting that we get a lot of content with these games and in recent years, 1 giant dlc that massively improves upon the base game.
And I know an extra £30 for cosmetics in the premium edition is insane, at least it's optional and doesn't give an in game advantage to those who do buy it.
I am just genuinely confused at why people seem to be surprised by the pricing.

Even if they are, a simple search will net them $10-15 off from what steam is selling it at.

While I went and paid for the premium deluxe because the monster hunter team's never let me down in over ten years now and I want to support them beyond the DLC, the base price to me is still insane.

For my local, it's about 20% more expensive than Dragon Age Veilguard.

Huh, I checked the conversion of $70 usd to cad and its $97. Is the canadian price 97 with tax? Either way it's cheaper there than here in the us when taking the actual dollar value into account.

I dunno where you been at but games 5 to 10 years ago were not costing $100 and you being ok with a game being that expensive is part of the problem. I think it was SF6(most likely i am wrong) or something like that when it was first released it was like $110 cad or something, it was insane. i get why they are becoming more and more expensive but its more of the game is unfinished , poorly optimised and lacking content and has a sticker of $100. if a game is costing $100 it NEEDS to be complete. anything with it being poorly optimised, lacking content, unfinished, having a season pass of $80 should be instantly boycotted. How you release a game at $100 then a SP of $80 and expect people to be fine with it.

I dunno about in Canada, but here in America we had people DEMANDING $15 an hour to flip burgers. Some states cave to pressure and now McDonald's workers are getting $15 an hour. It's only going up since these same folks are now DEMANDING $20 an hour to keep up with inflation. Now everything goes up: food, utilities, rent, insurance, and yes, even video games!

Why does anybody expect video games to stay the same price when McD's workers are getting $20 an hour?

mcdonalds workers do not get $20/hr. maybe in california but thats alongside 60 outlets of fast food joints not just mcdonalds. and usually the workers are shift managers, supervisors etc but not line cooks. in canada the average is $15.13/hr.

so explain to me why inflation increases the prices of digital currency like what epic games did with vbucks, how does inflation make a digital currency that can only be used on one game that forces it to increase in price when the company can make an infinite number of them?
