New Vegas will not load game after Launch!!!
I just recently re-installed New Vegas on my PC. I have no mods or DLC running with the game. I have tried everything. Verifying files, deleting and re-installing both steam and the game. I have removed the script to run the title video and also tried to run as admin and in compatibility mode. Nothing works. I also get this error.

I am pretty pissed that this game worked fine while i was deployed, but the when i update it, it won't start. Also, steam support is not helping with this at all.

I had an extremely similar issue. Both Fallout NV and Fallout 3 would crash the moment their respective launchers started. This was unusual, as I'd played them both flawlessly just a few weeks prior.

I *had*, however, installed them to a non-primary hard-drive, along with Steam and all of my other games, and in the meanwhile I had formatted my primary (C:) drive. So any C++ redists and similar components were likely lacking.

It turned out that a Direct X 9 component was missing, so I merely Googled 'Direct X' and the first result was the Direct X redistributable utility on Microsoft's site. Run that and it will install Direct X (You probably already have it), but more importantly, it repairs missing components, such as the one Fallout 3 & New Vegas depended on. It once more runs flawlessly for me; I hope this helps you.

Have tried to re-install/update direct x, no joy.

Google "Fallout 3 ini fix". I'll bet my right arm that you have not applied this fix which is essential.

system specs? Have you checked the data file load order with FNVEdit?

Finally got it to work. unsure what is did. Might have been an issue with my gtx 680. re-installed direct x, steam, new vegas, and the GPU drivers as well as turning off my Anti-virus. May have been an issue with the GPU setings. Not sure, just glad i fixed it,

good deal , glad you got it up and running

Same problem, Bethesda tried to help but ended up blaming MickeyMou$e software and winblows. Claiming that my windows (installed 2 weeks ago and running flawlessly) was corrupt.

I have had issues with my GTX980Ti and older games, ARMA3 looked like garbage on my GPU until after month or so NVidia driver update fixed that.

Steam and new Vegas re-installs do not help. Although verify integrity on FANV keeps even after total reinstall saying that one file is corrupt.

I dobt issue is directX. Most likely the culprint is GPU drivers.

Messing with the ini file did not help AT all. Nor did compatibility modes.

Bethesda couldn't troubleshoot a brick.

If you have a problem where the game doesn't respond at all after hitting Play in the launcher after Win10 upgrade, then check the NTFS permissions on Documents\My Games\falloutnv and set full control for your new user.
If you have some other problem, then elaborate where does the game crash. It can happen at a few points and all have different solutions.
