Large Address Aware flag (>2Gb)

I tried CFF Explorer, the same way I had for Oblivion and Fallout 3, but it didn't work with Fallout New Vegas. I got an error when I tried to start the game, which I resolved by turning that flag back off through CFF Explorer (thankfully, as I didn't bother making a backup).

I have a Windows 7 64-bit machine with 12Gb of RAM. Is there an easy way to set the LARGEADDRESSAWARE flag for this game, something that won't require other mods or script extenders?

Does the failure of CFF Explorer have anything to do with Steam DRM?

Doesn't work that way for me either, but you will get Achievemts for story progression and for challanges as long as you don't open the ingame console. If you do, save and restart the game and you should be able to get those trivial achievments again.

someone tried the nt core flag? it also makes steam to prevent from running. i can play without 4gb laa but it crashes now and then. nv4gb doesnt seem to find my nv path or it does not initialize, just loads and then shuts down.

Quick guide for everyone who have problems with running 4gb enabler (Win7)
Get the latest NVSE version. http://nvse.silverlock.org/beta/nvse_3_beta2.7z
Get the alternative 4gb loader http://nvse.silverlock.org/beta/fnv4gb_nvse.zip
Install NVSE
Install alternative 4gb loader
create a loader shortcut on your desktop. Right click. Click properties.
Add into target line -SteamAppID 22380
it should look like this:
"blablabla\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\fnv4gb.exe" -SteamAppID 22380

Apply. Run. Play.

Just gonna say I tried this and it didn't work for me. Brought up the launcher and when I hit play I got the 'out of memory' message like 3 seconds in. Still doesn't load NVSE for me OR ENB when I launch fomit without the command line.

just wondering,do you know if it is FOMM compatible,or do i need to manual install 4 gb and use its luancher?

It needs to be installed manually. Also, don't know if FOMM supports custom launcher options where you set the EXE file or not: when I play NV I simply pin the 4GB exe to my task bar.
