Hm. Played through FO2 dozens of times, never noticed that. Granted, unlike most of the RPGs I play a lot I never did an "evil" character in any of the Fallouts. Somehow couldn't do it. The things you learn after all these years…
Thanks for the info, grateful for it. I like when I discover something new in games I thought I pretty much played the hell out of them.
Not sure about the pre-Fallout 3 games, but Evil recently went from "being evil" to "being a massive, illogical ♥♥♥♥." =/

Just a negative relationship with the legion

Shoot them first. Haha - sorry, I couldn't resist.

I find that Grenade Rifles are very useful for dealing with the legion assassins if you see them coming early enough to get a shot in before they close with you (don't wait for the lead assassin to get close enough to do his villain monologue, just enter VATS and aim for whichever assassin is closest to the middle of the group; don't worry if the listed chance to hit is low, a near miss is nearly as good). Ed-E is also useful to let you see them coming a distance away on the radar (but be warned that they'll show up as friendlies because they don't turn hostile until either you fire on them or the leader gives his villain speech.

Armor piercing weapons like the ripper and the thermic lance are useful too.

It's really easy, just wear Legion armor (From killing them) and you get a whole new disguise. Letting you start over with just about anyone. (This will not make you ruin your reputation with House. It does not effect story quests) The Legion will think your one of their soldiers. Yay.
Most importantly, side with Yes Man, House is a greedy monster.

Go the California route and declare everywhere around your personal space a legion free zone.
Use a Ripper, Legionary Assassins will literally die in 3-5 seconds if you use a Ripper.

If you've aquired hitsquads from any faction due to completing story quests (as opposed to simply murdering its members or stealing or whatever) then there's nothing you can do.

Hitsquads come once everything 3 in-game days, but there's a mod that increase (or decrease, if you want) the amount of time if you find it too tiresome, as well as another one that fixes up their equipment lists to not give you free amazing gear so often (only at high levels).

Gauss rifle. The pissant legionnaires go down when this is fired at them. (Yes, I'm a legion killer and proud of it. 😁)

Preferably with a weapon. Otherwise with console commands :P

I've taken out the Fort and everyone in it 'cept for slaves, kids and that one visitor, yet the Assasins still sometimes visit me. I managed to take em out with a Hunting kit (shotgun + rifle) but I still lose a couple of S-Stimpaks and my armor gets a bit damaged. I think it's just the best to, if you're a gun freak, be on alert all the time when walking around the wasteland - if you can spot them early, you can get into cover and engage them in the open.
