Having a very odd bug
When using the wait function to wait more than 3 hours, the wait is suddenly halted part of the way through. It doesn't just go to 0, the meter goes to -1 for some reason. After this glitch happens, I'll crouch, and it will say [CAUTION] and all the NPCs run away like an enemy is near. The only problem is that there are no enemy NPCs at all, anywhere, and the [CAUTION] goes away after about 5-10 seconds. The same problem occurs 75% of the time when I fast travel somewhere. Short version: Can't wait for a long time because the meter randomly stops and goes to -1 and a non-existent enemy is chasing me.

This bug is extremely annoying as it makes it impossible to wait for more than 3 hours at a time, and it makes NPC interactions difficult. Mods are not to blame here, I uninstalled all mods and validated files, still isn't fixed.

I searched the internet, and after searching dozens of topics, I found one person who had my problem. They posted in response to someone else who had a different problem. Unfortunately, they had no solution.

If anyone knows how I can fix this, I would appreciate the help.

Where are you waiting at?

With all these things, try the standard solution of wating in an empty cell for 4 days. Or in your case, try sleeping instead. It is probably a part of your save, so you need to wait/sleep 4 days to reset all of the game cells.

It might work.

^That's why I was asking, in some ways.

This glitch happens in any room in any place, anywhere. Sleeping is also affected, I cannot sleep for more than 3 or 4 hours without a [CAUTION[ appearing.
Have you hit Vilified with either the NCR or the Legion?

Not yet.

Previous save, or a console command if you can work out which you need.

Sorry if this is a old thread but im having the same problem now, no idea what causes and like OP said, turning off mods don´t help. Previous saves have the same issue, even new one. Anyone know a solution? Thanks

what unoffisial patch do you have, or do you have it at all? if you don't try installing one
Leafdude Aug 25, 2018 @ 12:19pm
Im using YUP and UP+. Im also using Jsawyer Ultimate if that helps.
Sila Drenja Aug 25, 2018 @ 12:23pm
so 3 of them, try disabling 2, I remember not being able to leave honest hearts dlc because project mojave and yup were conflicting themselves. IK It's a different problem, but maybe YUP and UP+ and Jsawyer may act differently. you should never have more then one unoficial patch
Leafdude Aug 25, 2018 @ 12:38pm
Well i don´t think thats the problem, you see JSwayer Ultimate requieres both YUP and UP+ to work and i didn´t had problems with them at start. Anyway just like the OP said i even remove everything in my load order and still get this issue. I know is not related to the save file since im getting this in all of them.

reinstall, but backup the save before doing so?
Leafdude Aug 25, 2018 @ 10:52pm
Well i just unstalled every mod and comunity patch and nope, still with the damn [caution] problem :(

Edit: tried a fresh new game and still having the problems. I wonder if is engine problem or something to do with fallout.ini

If it happens on a fresh file, then it still can be a leftover mod file somewhere.
Although yes, it sounds like an AI calculation bug. Is your framerate above 60 fps?
