Only you can answer that.
Want to experience a story where you are shaping the events with a somewhat clunky gameplay system: New Vegas.
The difference between the two games fun level is Skyrim has bows, swords and magic, while New Vegas has guns, grenades and mini nukes.
I strongly suggest you play both games! Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition and Skyrim Legendary Edition.
Wanna play a game that feels like MMORPG minus other players? Play Skyrim.
Everything decent is stuff I craft myself. So I was upset I could level all the way up IN TOWN and have all the best gear. and never leave a town.
The challenge factor was a gear check. if your armor rating is close to max your damage is insignificant and if its not you just die. Probably would prefer an exponential scale thing so more is always better but with deminishing returns.
but the way it was I could smith light armor up to max AR and run around just fine. Making the heavy armors or even the rarer armors POINTLESS. even though I could craft them.
Everything in a Bethesda game can be fixed though with Mods. and I never bothered with the expansions for Skyrim. But I enjoy New Vegas more.
it has more... soul.
Skyrim is prettier though if you want to explore and yell people off mountain cliffs.
New Vegas: A story-driven action RPG with excellent writing, meaningful decisions and sold RPG mechanics.
Skyrim: A sandbox action game with lite RPG elements, functional if uninspired writing and wonky character progression.
If you're looking for more of the RPG end then New Vegas is your game. If you are looking to basically play GTA with swords then Skyrim is for you.
you feel like your walking away from a massive explosion in slow mo while putting on sunglasses..... FOR EVERY SECOND YOU PLAY THE GAME. and cmon FUS RO DA and people fly off like theyre team rocket blasting off again. amazing. also im NOT SURE of this but i think there is a bigger map in skyrim than fallout nv and if you get bored quickly it has maybe TRIPPLE the modding comunity of any other game. sooooo yeah
one downside is every npc in the game looks like they could be phisicaly related to honeybooboos mother (espessialy the hagravens)
no but srsly EVERYONE IS UGLY AS HELL WITHOUT A MOD!!!!!!
i do think the game is overated though, but trust me thats not an insult its one of my top 10 fav games and its pretty close to #1. i say its over rated because its one of the best games of all time. one of the best GAMES..... its a GAME.....people rated it closer to some sort of all poweful godlike entity. they went apesh#t. THE ENTIRE INTERNET DID! the ONLY upside to that was that it drowned out everything about my little pony ..... that part was great. id rather see dovakin fannart than mlp fannart. because a maority of the mlp fannart is.......eeeeennnngggghhh not...suitable for its original intended audience.....we will say. and it made me want to vomit over everything i love and care about. i then realized i was suposed to be talking about skyrim vs new vegas and NOT the deviantart plague responsible for millions going blind and half the human population to write fanfics about a pony version of themselves and princess celestia that scarred me for life :)
they are both amazing i like fallout but to put it simply-
atmosphere- immersion-interesting and intrueging atmosphere and relatable npcs-fallout nv
constant overflow of badass and AMAZING soundtrack with a little bit more "stuff" and a possibly slightly larger map (but sadly none of the fallout nv pros mentioned above)- skyrim
In how mediocre it is ? Yes.
Have fun spitting into the wind kid. That's one way to get a shower.
