On regards of the controller support
The partial part is because aside the requirement of mouse on menus, there are no XInput symbols -- as in, the on-screen input won't change even if I'm playing with an XInput device? Also, once you're in game, is it 100% playable with a controller or will I still need the mouse to manage inventory and stuff?

When I have my controller plugged in, it actually disables my mouse and keyboard. I can only use a controller for everything: gameplay, pipboy, and menus. It could be my setup, but you can be sure the game is 100% playable with a controller.

Partial controller support means that at some point, either during installation or launching the game or both, a controller will not be enough. Full controller support are only given if you can install, launch and play the game through Big Picture without every having to use a mouse or keyboard.

I don't believe New Vegas allows you to get past the launcher with only a controller, which is why it only has partial support. I also think that you have to manually change input device in the settings, but I don't remember 100%. Once you're in the game though, it supports the controller fully and will change the icons/symbols to those of an Xinput device.

Edit: As AnabolicPanda points out, using a controller will also completely disable input from mouse and keyboard. This can be annoying if you need to enter the console for some reason, which requires a keyboard. But that's a minor issue.

Yup, I know what the partial support flair means, but it's never specific. Sometimes it means there's a launcher before the game, sometimes there's no on-screen controller input, sometimes you'll still need the mouse to browse menus and such. There are even a few games without any controller support flair even though they do support controllers.

Thx, btw! Other discussions weren't very specific on what I asked, pointing out that you needed the mouse to browse through menus -- but never mentioned which ones. No one also never points out if there is on-screen input or not :/ Guess they never played a game with a controller support that doesn't offer on-screen input.

Thx btw! Going to my wishlist so I can purchase it when I get the money.

By this, you mean an on-screen keyboard for typing? I don't believe New Vegas has that, but the only time you need to enter anything is when entering you character name, so that's hardly an issue. You can just use the default name, since it has no effect and it hardly used anywhere.

No, I mean on-screen XInput commands. Instead of saying "E to interact", for example, it says "A to interact" if you have a controller connected.

Oh, weird thing to call it since the game has that for both types of input, only the symbols are different. But okay. :OrangeSurprise:

Some games with controller support don't offer that, especially if they're marked with partial support :I Sometimes the partial part means there are no on-screen commands, like in Euro Truck Simulator 2. Speaking of Bethesda, I know Skyrim offers that, but Morrowind (and Oblivion if I'm not mistaken) don't. Considering New Vegas's original release date, it could go the same way since some other games released around 2008-2010 don't offer on-screen commands or even a controller support if it's a console port.
