Game gets EXTREMELY slow at Camp Guardian

I have the For the Enclave mod which only adds a few items in the immediate area, yet the game's FPS goes below 1 when I'm there. It's maing the quest unplayable, and it's extremely annoying. Also the texture of the screen also becomes strange (blurry and darker) randomly in the area, can anyone help?

Sounds like a mod issue, to be honest. A conflict that does not cause immediate crash can slow you down this much. Check the CPU usage if you can, it sounds like the first core should be maxed out when this happens, indicating a scripting error/overflow.

I've had slowdowns in random places myself, it was near the airbase (nellis) one of the zones was just bad.

not mod related. bad location probably from the save or something.

I believe killing yourself might fix it. always worth a shot.

Slowdowns are expected as they are part of how the game works, sadly. Frame rate drop to the 20-30 range in certain areas on certain CPU families (especially with intense mods like ENB) are also common.
What is not common is dropping below 20, especially into the single digits. That is almost surely a mod issue as the game world itself cannot kill any CPU to this level, simply because CPUs that would die under normal conditions on those parts cannot run Windows versions that the game requires.

again, I've had it happen in Nellis and maybe other areas with no mods installed.

not sure the exact FPS but it was like 'walking thru jello'

Fallout 3 has always had a bug in it, some quests work for some people some dont, sorry but some quests for me are like that. Good thing Fallout 4 will be better.

I have the same problem and I don't have the Enclave mod. Have played this game for many years and have not seen this issue anywhere else in the game. Facing north the framerate drops below 1. Facing south the framerate speeds up a bit. There is a small area at the top in the campsite where the problem lessons drastically.
I think this is the first time I have been to this location before. I don't remember it.

We will not know until Fallout 4 is released whether it is better or not. Based on past experience with Morrowind, Fallout3 and NV, and Skyrim, I suspect there will be lot's of bugs.

Of course there will be, especially since Bethesda found a way to mod console versions too, so they have exactly zero incentive to fix bugs; they know the community will do it for free (and better, based on past experiences). And heck, they can even charge for the freely made fixpack if they convince the authors to add just one new thing in it so it can be sold as community DLC.

But for your troubles… it is still strange. Does your core #0 max out when the frame drops start? And can you check the same area with zero mods running?

It will take a while to test without mods. I would probabley have to create a new character and start from the beginning. Maybe I'll look into it this weekend. I recently upgraded to a R9 380 with 4Gb video ram. I am using some texture mods. I could see if those are causing problems. Nevada skies. I wonder if 'Optional Time Scales for DTS' is causing problems. there. Haven't had any problems anywhere else.

I'm asking about CPU core #0. The game doesn't give a rat's ass on what GPU you have, it can run on an ancient Intel HD 3000 chip.

If you experience poor FPS, load "enclavebunker Low Performance.esp" and make sure it is loaded before "enclavebunker.esp"

it's a buggy mod , probably not compatible with some other mod you have
