Mad sniper with a tick (deadzone controller issue)
Has anyone got a way to fix the large deadzone on a 360 controller? I'm trying to snipe something the size of a pinhead while perched on the end of a cliff and short of taking a flying leap, there's no way to adjust your aim slightly at long range...
I have to move the right stick about 5 degrees further than i'd like and then, the crosshair shoots off over their shoulder. I'm all for a challenge, but when the courrier's arms seem to have a nervous tick, aiming gets tricky...

err... short version: 360 controller's deadzone is too big in F:NV. Any suggestions?

It doesn't have the usual peasant sticky aim (they apparently couldn't implement it). The engine uses a skill-based trajectory manipulation instead.
In other words, the better your skill, the more your bullets will curve towards your target even from afar.

ah, now... i didn't like that so I got a mod to turn it off XD the bullet now depends on the quality of the gun, my skill, it's generic spread etc... i'm a sniper. my bullets go in straight lines and my job is to keep enemies in those lines ;)

Thanks for the reply though

You are welcome. Although I think that mod should have (or has) in its description that it's good for mouse aim only. Anyone can praise the new 8th gen non-WiiU controllers as they want, but even with the best firmware and software help they are still are not even half as precise as a simple 5-dollar Logitech office mouse. And unless someone finds a way to port console aim assist into that ancient engine, you will have hard times.

i just want to remove the dead-zone. the mouse is only good for aiming because the sensitivity is insane! you move a little, it moves a little... move a little more and you spin around three times and are aiming the same place! I can't use it for the pip-boy either... and i don't want to change my whole play-style because of a dead-zone issue on the controller. everything else is fine

Use the software called Durazno. Set an "Anti-deadzone", then copy and paste the xinput and durazno.ini files into the root of Fallout 3 (where the .exe is located). You can also set linearity settings (to make inside the stick more accurate to smaller movements) like what consoles implement.
