Strange slowdowns
I have a GTX 780 ti. I should be able to play this game without any FPS drops.

Well, the problem is that in certain areas like Camp McCaran, Nipton, Vault 21, The Strip, The Tops, RepCon Facility, and the Gomorrah, my FPS dips down to 30.

That might not sound bad, but the game feels so sluggish for it to even be called "30" FPS. When I walk, it feels so slow and it even seems to skip a few frames a bit. When I look at NPCs, their animations don't seem to be slow, they move like how they would in 30 FPS.

I've already installed Stutter Remover and a few SUPPOSEDLY performance enhancing mods. Playing the game at Ultra at 1080p. Lowering the resolution doesn't seem to do anything to improve the performance.

The slowdown isn't too bad when I first start the game, but it get worse, and I repeat, WORSE after playing just a few ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minutes.

That GPU is cute. The problem is, the game engine doesn't really give the slightest care of what GPU you have, it is almost purely CPU-limited.
Apart from the engine hacks you can find in the pinned thread about stability, you don't need any performance-boosting "mods", especially if they are ESM/ESP files: they usually slow you down instead of giving a boost.

Slowdowns are normal for the game, especially when you travel many cells fast and the background scripts keep piling up and killing the single core the game runs on. The effect is the worst on pre-8000 AMD FX CPUs, but even a Core i7 can feel it.

Recently a new pack emerged which is essentially a modified INI file for the game, but many people report up to +20 fps increase in frame rate with it. Give it a try, the worst that can happen is that it doesn't work for you:

it is your cpu man, I've got a capable rig, and even vanilla settings causes slowdown. Too many NPC's, too much stuff happening, live with it or get a crazy rig that cost quite a bit - but will still experience slowdown haha :steamfacepalm:
