Good News for Windows10
FNV runs AMAZING in DirectX12. I've been stress testing the game by spaming nukes in high sunlight to load the screen with things to process and by launching them in closed rooms to trigger physics. All of which the game engine handles fine. I am beginning to feel it's not the coding of the game, but the limits of DirectX11 that sometimes made FNV unstable. The lag when opening VATS is gone, the lag when switching targets in VATS is gone. Images are visually improved, as well as framerate. In games wdere framerate monitiors are built in, I am finding 25-50% improvements. FNV seems visually similar.

This is a video of the stress test. It is progressive. If you just want to see the mass spamming I was able to get to, head towards the end.

I also explored some of the game interactions to see the difference in load times and such. It is a lot of walking around and boring stuff, but if you want to watch that as well it is here.

8 gig Gskill DDR3 1866

Sounds good. I've never used Windows 8, but I'm actually looking forward to 10. If Microsoft continues the pattern of good OS -> bad OS -> good OS, it's going to be a good one.

So far what I heard about the preliminary tests, W10 seems decent. Hopefully these positives feedbacks will survive the launch too.

Wonder if it's true that it will be a free upgrade for users of 7pro and 8.1. Read it on Cnet. ^_^

As far as I've read, upgrading is free for a year after release.

Yeah, they call them Beta testers. Only the Alpha work seems to get done before a RTM so the freetoplay millions will have to sweat the Service Packs.

Latest Windows 10 Update and nVidia Windows 10 Driver (GTX 980 SOC 4GB) have made my game impossible to run in complete vanilla form, let alone with any form of ENB.

weird. I have a 960M in my laptop and get around 30 FPS on ultra high with ENB

Running Win 10 and had driver updates 2 days ago

try reinstalling the driver? or try and validate the files trough steam or complete reinstall

If all else fails there is a fix that changes a file to trick the game its another graphics card or something (people have had giant fps boost with it)

I all ran perfectly on the 980 while I was on Windows 7 and for the first week after the Windows 10 upgrade. It was only after a further week of updates and a new graphics driver every other day that it spat the dummy. It was only Fallout 3 and NV that were effected. Everything else went above and beyond expectations (Including Shadow of Mordor, Fallout & Fallout 2, Sniper Elite 3 and Alien: Isolation)

I've redone the drivers done about 50 validity checks last night alone and deleted half the files and redownloaded them. I'm going to try deleting all local content and then trying again. Even Skyrim runs with no issues.

Um, just to point something out... Fallout New Vegas is a DirectX 9 game. It isn't a DirectX 12 game and never will be.

no console game this generation will support direct x 12
also windows 10 is full of spyware and adware with OS level ads and pop ups as well as more intrusive DRM than XBONE tried to have
