OWB Lightswitch bug please help
I've done about half the Big Mt locations, so I've got some time to run yet. I know it's a small thing, but twice now I've picked up tapes for the lightswitch (after the initial re-power up) yet when I get back to the sink, they've disappeared from my inventory. I have been and checked the Big Mt North Tunnel again, but it's not there now, so does anyone know if there's a fix for this? I know it's only a speech upgrade from some fancy lights, but actually speech is one of the skills I've not boosted much so far, and every little helps. Thanx :)

What do you mean it's missing? Quest items don't get lost unless a quest script removes them.
Anyway, you can spawn in the item if you really need it. It's either
player.additem 03011faf 1
or
player.additem 030122e7 1

"It is possible that after recovering all of the modules, the game does not recognize all of them, and the quest will not progress. To fix this bug in the console, type completequest [DLC ID]0112e3 or install them only when the quest tells you to install them."

Keep in mind this will complete all the upgrades.

Using console commands in the Steam version of the game will disable gaining achievements. To re-enable them, one must exit the game and relaunch it.

To find the DLC ID for OWB check here for info. It will take the form of a two digit number represented by the location of the DLC in your load order.

Maybe you've got a perfect copy of FNV Talgaby, but mine has lots of little bugs, like altho I definitely have all the kit for bottlecap mines, the workbench in the sink won't let me make them, I mean it lists all the stuff as present but neither the name or accept buttons are highlighted, explain that then. :)

Nobody has a perfect copy of this I think. :) Still, the issue with quest items is the exact opposite of what you describe: if people have problems with them, then it's because quest items are not removed from the inventory even if they should.

Thanx talgaby. Apologies, turns out I did have the item (in Data, misc) however, despite this I still can't access the special coloured lights. Maybe I don't know what to do to get it in the lightswitch. Ahh.. What am I doing with my life! :) I'm just putting it down to a game glitch and moving on now. I've developed 2 new personal sub-quests. one is findind toasters for the psychopathic super toaster, and the other is finding crockery for Muggy. I just love his character! Talk about OCD! Ah.. This is what I'm doing with my life. :) These little character gems are what help to make FNV one of the best games I've ever played.

You sure you are on the right quest though? The Sink upgrades are separated into two different quests, maybe you need to finish the first one before? Can't recall the switches are where in this order, since I usually gather everything in one go, then complete the three quests within the same minute.

I'm on 'Influencing people' at present, with 'A brains best friend' next down and 'Old world blues' third. I think this DLC is quite buggy as I've discovered that the workbench won't see my blank books either, so bang goes my skill upgrade potential there. Hey ho :)
