How bad is the level scaling in the DLCs? What level should I play them on?
How bad is the level scaling enemies in the DLCs, especially in Old World Blues and Lonesome Road?

Should I play them at max level(All DLCs installed)? Enemies apparently level scale in the DLCs, which means I'll probably get killed by deathclaws with a ♥♥♥♥ton of health in LR that require 77 mininukes to the face and onehitkill me.

What level is recommended for the DLCs then?

I'll just add this...if you're going to do LR, do it before level 40, because otherwise said Deathclaws will OHK you if they touch you.

I actually recommend that you do Dead Money as early as level 10 because of its special condition.

Any community recommended levels for the DLCs? Look at the "Do LR before Level 40" quote.

Also, is there more to LR than just deathclaw spam?

It should tell you when you are about to enter the DLC's, I think.
HH is around level 5, OWB 15, DM 20, LR 25+

That`s rather... optimistic for a first timer. By the time Honest Hearts is available on the "expected" route you`re gonna be ~level 10 anyway.

I was able to get through Hopeville in the Divide at just level 5, but there are Deathclaws and Tunnlers after
OWB has much harsher enemies, which includes Cazadores, Nightstalkers, Nearly all kinds of robots, Lobotomites, and probaly a few other ones that you won't see too much.

Depends really, i had project reality with damage modifiers to make the more realistically you aim the more damage will be done so on and so fourth, but in the case, i'd just do it when you feel like you have the right Damage Threshhold and perks to support whichever DLC you're chasing for.

Also, there is no scaling, it's not exactly Borderlands. All DLCs have a set of enemy levels, and in the case of OWB and HH their weapons "scale" with you in some extent. For a first timer just what was said above, follow the recommended levels in the warning windows of the DLCs. All of them but Honest Hearts will give you a warning before you start them. HH can be done pretty much on any level, if you can survive the first scripted fight there.

After 40 you NEED that. The only way to OHK them before they OHK you is a sneaking headshot with that. AP ammo might help, but I usually used normal ammo since it was more common. Haven't been there in a while, though. :P

I started OWB at lvl 16 and have gained 5 levels so far in this DLC and I'm sure I'm only half way done.
Will I be overpowered for Honest Hearts? I didn't know if there's an order to play the DLC in, I just did whatever was around my level at the time.

I played Honest Hearts around level 20 the first time I did it and I wasn't too OP

What I'm wondering is what OHK means.

Pretty sure enemies scale in this game anyway for the most part. It sure feels like it, except humans have always been easy to kill.

One-Hit Kill.

Thanks
I always thought the main difference with enemies between New Vegas and Skyrim is that in Skyrim enemies scale with you, so you can go in any dungeon at any time and clear it without that much hassle. Whereas in New Vegas you're practically forced South from Goodsprings because North is high leveled enemies you can't take on till later.
