Another vote for the Afterschool special.
It's a nice compact home with all you really need and you have to complete a quest (build it) to obtain it, which is why it feels much more like 'home' than something you are just given.

Not a player home mod, per se, but if you like having companions (or I presume you could install it, meet her, get the place and then tell her to sod off) Willow comes with a pretty nice 'deluxe bungalow' in Novac (150 caps, same deal as the vanilla one but a little higher price). It's dingy, in keeping with the rest of the motel, but it has decent storage, a few amenities (reloading, crafting, 'campfire' cooking on the stove, a mirror if you want to change your hair) and so on. It's not completely basic, but it's also not overly fancy, and Novac is a decent, centrallish location.

I would have to say the one from courier's cache it even has a laptop inside the hime where you can organize/put away all your items in your backpack into lockers for you so that you can easily take what you need and not have to worry about organizing since the laptopl essentially does it all for you.

Since interiors and placing objects are the easiest thing you can learn to do, I always say it's worth it to use the geck to make your own.

Even though it's a small house that makes it take longer to get to places, I like it.

I like the NV Novac Apartment, adds vinyl records to the wastes to collect and doubles the size of the Novac apartment from the vanilla game. Not to mention you can watch Tom and Jerry on the TV!
