Redesigned 3 mod CTD on startup
Hello, I am getting a CTD when I start NV while using the Redesigned 3 mod. I used Fallout Mod Manager (fomm) to install the mod. First I installed FCO (Fallout Character Overhaul) through fomm, then Redesigned 3 (which I will now call RD3 to save time), and unchecked the FCO in the load order before starting the game. I unchecked all of the other mods I was using, and I can confirm that the game is working properly when I uncheck RD3 from the load menu; however, when I use RD3, the game crashes just when the Bethesda logo shows up.

My load list looks like this, and I have omitted the unrelated mods which I will leave off for now. The omitted mods were NMC (1, 2 and 3), EVE, and NSkies.

[X] FalloutNV.esm
[X] New Vegas Redesigned 3.esm
[X] DeadMoney.esm
[X] HonestHearts.esm
[X] OldWorldBlues.esm
[X] Gomorrah Redesigned.esp
[ ] FCOMaster.esm
[ ] Cass alternate version.esp (part of RD3)
[X] New Vegas Redesigned - Honest Hearts.esp
[X] New Vegas Redesigned 3.esp

I did not bother to update RD3 to versions 3.0 and 3.1 because I want to get the game started first before I update the mod.

I'm really at a loss at what to do now.

Redesign tends to do that. It always had a tendency to just straight-up crash, because reasons. Just like FCO and other similar mods.
doesn't the nvr esm rely on OWB esm as well?
anyway you shouldn't have mod esm's before DLC esm's in general

True. With Ultimate Edition it's not really a problem (the engine puts the official files on top anyway), but for normal versions it is highly advised to manually recreate the official load order (NV, DM, HH, OWB, LR, GRA, CS).

Okay, I changed the order to this and it still won't work:

[X] FalloutNV.esm
[X] DeadMoney.esm
[X] HonestHearts.esm
[X] OldWorldBlues.esm
[X] New Vegas Redesigned 3.esm
[X] New Vegas Redesigned 3.esp
[ ] FCOMaster.esm
[ ] Cass alternate version.esp (part of RD3)
[ ] New Vegas Redesigned - Honest Hearts.esp

It's the only mod I have enabled and it won't work.

Check it with FNVEdit. There is s chance it may need Lonesome Road to load.

There are some reds in the NPC subsection in FNVedit under New Vegas Redesigned. I tried making a merge patch, and it didn't work either. The conflict is between the esm and esp.

For example, FNVEdit is telling me that for the character Silus, New Vegas Redesigned 3.esm sets the hair length value to .505300, but new Vegas Redesigned 3.esp sets the value to .400000. There are dozens of these discrepancies. I have no idea how to resolve this conflict.

Okay, I've completely uninstalled all of my mods and made a complete reinstall of the game including the deletion of the FNV folder. All I'm using now is the Fallout Character Overhaul mod. However, it still crashes at startup and I don't know why.

Here is my new load order

[X] FalloutNV.esm
[X] DeadMoney.esm
[X] HonestHearts.esm
[X] OldWorldBlues.esm
[X] LonesomeRoad.esm
[X] FCOMaster.esm

I checked with FNVedit and there are some red flags on a few things involving Dead Money and Old World Blues. Random stuff, really. I tried making a merge patch again, but it changes nothing.

There is a chance that it really needs the Ultimate Edition. Many mods don't list it nowadays, but they do.
Or you are simply unlucky this time. Some mods don't work for no reason, then next time you install the game, they do.

There's no way I'm paying money just to use a mod.
no,and that may not fix your problem at all
i dont use those mods because of thier potential conflicts
i prefer to just use vanilla armour replacers instead
combining 2-6 of them creates a similar effect, and some even take license with face overhual as well that is not quite so conflicting ( izumiko for one ) and don't really tell you about that either ( body by race )

But I only have one mod now, FCO, and it still won't work.

Hallelujah, I've managed to fix my issue by installing the 4GB mod and using that. But, unfortunately, I see lots of red exlamation marks and missing heads. Any idea on how to fix that?
sounds like you either haven't toggled archive validation or its just installed incorrectly
red ! are meshes
