Why do people white knight(lol) the BoS?

The faction in 3 were white knighted. Totally unlike any other BoS faction, even more than the half possibly canon BoS in Tactics.

I never totally got the hatred of the BoS in NV, they're basically just a semi corrupt, powerless NGO. They've been too isolated to even be considered a legitimate branch of the actual BoS. All they've managed to make of themselves in the Mojave was an under performing research centre, with some cool weapons. I think people are too easily demonizing them due to the great evil they represented earlier in the Fallout timeline, because the Mojave branch of the BoS is not much more classical BoS then the capital wasteland branch, they're absolutely pathetic in any comparison.

Yeah I usually just join for the power armor. Although I wear remnant armor usually (unless going the light ranger route). McNamara is toothless. I keep him in power. Helping the BOS is just assuring what side they will take against the legion. I also see hoarding tech to keep out of evil hands as noble. I think you are confusing the BoS of 2161 with 2281. That is like comparing the German empire of 1939 with that of 2015. All it takes is a few corrupt apples to ruin the pie. Even the enclave had good people in it. Saying that a 120 year span didn't change the BoS, especially the mojave branch, is not prudent. I mean, the NCR is, to me, a much better option for humanity than letting organized crime run everything, and obv much better than the legion. That being said I have issues with corruption and their systematic annexation of all they see without securing what they have. That is the point of the writing in Obsidian/Black Isle games. There is no perfect choice to lead. All power corrupts. You have to pick which option is best for society. As a "very good" char, I have had inklings that I would be best suited to lead by example. What happens when I die and Yes Man gets found out? How well can I lead and provide for people of the mojave with the NCR AND the Legion on my back? This game is very very complex and deep.

Of course they are just a bunch of tech raiders that need to be put down. In only 1 possible ending where they survive do they NOT become tech raiders (if you make an alliance between them and NCR), otherwise every other ending they end up raiding random people for their tech cus they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Everyone knows the Enclave Remnants in the mojave are way more badass. They show up to the battle of hoover dam in a vertibird and annihilate everyone, after being gone for 30 some years.

And this is what I do. Keep McNamara, mend the NCR fences. These are not a recruiting group. They are a community. They likely just need good leadership. Maybe getting whomped at Helios drove McNamara into realizing that if they and the NCR share ideas, maybe they will prevent one another from straying too far from the correct path. I'd like to think of the slice of time in the BoS in 2281 Nevada is a turning point to them becoming "knights" of the NCR kingdom. They have some good intentions, but bad leadership (like hardin) will break them. They are not there yet mind you, but this is a good transitional period for the BoS. As for Fallout 3, why even bother including it in the lore? I don't care what George Lucas says, the force is not midichlorians...

No white knights in Vegas, they wiped out a followers medical station. Mc Namara is a coward and a jerk who hides behind his codex. He keep sending you on suicide runs and even senior knight Lorenzo says so. His bunker goes boom. Not for mr House or another faction but for the good of the people.
