No in game sound (besides music) HELP!!!
So i recently downloaded Fallout NV not for the first time i've had it on past PC's and consoles and everything in the game itself is fine besides an audio issue where no sound besides the in-game music and radio can be heard is there a fix for this? I'm on Windows * if that makes a difference. Thanks!

You cannot be on anything but Windows since it is the only PC platform supported. :)

The two most common fix for similar audio issues are:
  • Set speaker configuration to 2.0 stereo in Windows Control Panel. (If you use a dolby USB headset, you may need to remove its drivers and use it as a generic 2.0 USB audio device.)
  • Reinstall the drivers of the sound card or on-board sound chip. Use the CD that came with it, when possible. Alternatively download the driver straight from the website of the manufacturer.

When i go to configue I only have the option of stereo.. No 2.0:/

Maybe go under that game settings and adjust the volume there for voice, it does have separate volume for voice, environment and music so see if that helps.

Tried that to, IO have looked into this bug and all the fixes only seem to be relevant to Windows 7 users.

Hmmm, sorry I can't help anymore, I've never had any issues with the game myself except for a little lag from time to time. Good luck in fixing it though. :)

Oh can you try setting it to play in compatibility mode with another windows platform?

Do you use any codec packs?
Are you on a laptop?
Do you have some sound-related dashboard constantly running on your task bar? (Not referring to the Windows Sound Mixer/volume adjuster.)
(Did you try the reinstall I mentioned?)

Bummer, maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling from a clean load?

No codec pack because I don't quite know what one is..
No Desktop
I have one called Realtek HD Audio Manager
And I haven't partially for the reason I have no clue where it is xD

Hm, strange, sounds like it's a perfectly normal audio setup.
Do you have AC3Filter? You can tell easily, it is a directory with the same name under Program Files (x86). There is a certain option in it that can make this exact same problem.

i don't

Then I have no idea left besides a driver reinstall. Your sound setup based on this info should be perfectly normal for this game.
