Toughest Enemy

Who do you feel are the toughest enemies that are not a boss in fallout new vegas on a non-modded game? I think the brotherhood of steel paladin due to them being able to take a punishment unless your using armor piercing, emp effect weapons, or melee.

For the unprepared Cazadores are the worst. When first met you likely won't have any anti-venom and be a pretty low level.

Most enemies are pretty trivial when you have levelled and have half decent gear, but Deathclaw's are still a bit dangerous.

Of the mob types the highest-level OWB robots. In base game the elite legion soldiers or the mature deathclaws.

Fully agee with 2 bears. Those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scorpians in the Old World Blues DLC on a high difficulty.

I never had a problem with the scorpions in OWB on high difficulty due to me ususally making a melee type character but if your character is gun a build you are pretty much screwed in the dlc since there is very little ammo and the bullets barely go through their DT.

F--king hate the scorpions in OWB too, but It may not be the same for you but I play in hard & hardcore, and one of the hardest challenges would've been the NCR Vetren rangers, they kill me in 1-2 hits....

Yep hardest part in OWB are the nightstalkers and cyberdogs when your a low level playing on highest diffuculty they just knock you down or gang up on you and proceed to rip you to shreds.

I would say Lanius Legate (He takes so many shots to kill). But then I discovered drug-use and how becoming addicted becomes meaningless right before the end credits.

I had a spot, (Right off the cliff onto a smaller cliff) I could stand there and he couldn't reach me so I took him out pretty quickly, and there's a mod that let's you play after the game (whitch i should get because i want the army uniforme that ncr guy has on) but yeah... he's pretty tough if you actually fight him head on and don't have 100 speatch :P

My first playthrough ever (played on PS3) I made such a terrible character that Lanius kicked my ass. My character had all points in everything but combat skills my combat skills were each like 25 points maximum and below. My character was like lvl 22 I think but I defeated him by using steady and vats and shot his grenades until he crippled himself and then finished him off with a shot to the head from an anti-material rifle. I just got lucky when I beat him though my character's body was completly crippled from head to toe.

For th scorpions in OWB, i just used a proton axe (even without any investment in melee) and they became ridiculously easy. This is for my guns build, mind you. The proton axe is like Robot scorpion repellant, just make sure to jump away after killing them.

As for base normal bad guy that isnt a boss? I dunno, deathclaws or Legion assassins maybe. Cazadors die really easily, but if they get you unaware, you can be screwed real quick.

As for boss characters, well obviously Rawr (even though i was level 47 on my last dude, and killed rawr in 2 shots with a hunting shotgun and some slugs), because he's designed to be something like 10 levels above the character at all times.

The legendary bloatfly is pretty brutal too, i tell you hhhwhaat.

Nice, I'm pretty sure I used the anti-material rifle glitch to kill him before it was patched on the ps3 :P
