Can I take a mod weapon from Fallout 3 and put it in New Vegas?
Like... Can I port it successfully? Using Fallout Mod Manager?

'Cause I wanted to make a weapon but decided I'd just "dig up" a mod weapon from FO3... So I dunno I'd have to check compatability and the Navmesh and the pixels all need to be JUUUST right... maybe I'll have it, perhaps I should check with Nexusmods chat or something if this post turns out to be a flop...

There is that Tale of Two Wastelands mod which is mostly working that connects F3 and F NV together.

Together... what do you mean?

As for the original question: no. You need to edit the FO3 mod in GECK to make it compatible in NV.

I knew it wouldn't be as simple as moving the ESP's about, neglected to mention that.
Thanks anyways.

Tale of Two Wastelands is a mod that, if you have the complete editions of both 3 and New Vegas, turns them into 1 big game. You start in the DC wasteland of 3 and can take a train (and other methods via mods) to get to the Nevada wastes. Basically it adds all of 3 to New Vegas a a sort of huge expansion. If you have TTW installed they have a guide on porting 3 mods to New Vegas, as with all the content already in the game it is much easier to do.

Yes - you need FNVEdit to do it (at a minimum) though.

In addition, there are differences in the way the two games handle items that may (or may not - depending on the item and what it does) that can cause problems.

You're going to have to change the masters from Fallout3.esm to FalloutNV.esm to start with.

--------------------------

I believe there's a mod converter that automates some of the process at the TTW site.

--------------------------

TTW *does not* allow you to use FO3 mods - its a mod itself, for Fallout New Vegas. FNV mods work with it, but FO3 mods need to be converted.
