Game breaking weapon bug
I started a new game and all of a sudden there's a huge delay in firing my weapons at random intervales. Someone said it had to do with weapon condition but I know that's not true. For 1. It would be delayed firing speed, not delayed firing entirely (takes like 10 seconds to fire and it fires like 5 shots in a row if I clicked five times) and 2. 3 out of 5 guns I had this happen with were near mint condition.

It got me killed a couple times because if it happens during VATS, my character just stands there and I can't do anything 'til they die. I'm fairly sure it's not a mod cause either.

If it is outside influence, it would only affect non-VATS shooting. For example some weird mouse driver issue. But if it happens in VATS too, which is entirely script-based, then it has to be inside a game. So I would indeed start looking around my mods.

it happens in VATS too, my character stands there and doesn't do anything 'til they die (can't even exit VATS). It stopped doing it today, so I doubt it was mod since I didn't add/remove mods for a couple months.

Any mod can break the game any time after installation. I had to do more than one wipes almost 20 hours in because one mod suddenly broke everything.

I found out it was a game bug, just had to close the game and reopen it and it was fine.

Ah, then it may have been a weird variation of the old reload bug. Although I thought YUP corrected that one.

I think it had to do with the Trigger Discipline trait. This was the first time I actually took it and it happened. At first I thought it was the trait, but it wasn't that I fired less rapidly but rather I'd click to shoot and it would take a while before it shot and would do so in rapid succession. That and VATs wouldn't shoot at all. But, it stopped so hopefully it doesn't happen again lol
