Best source of .357 ammo?

I found Lucky (The unique .357 revolver), but I have trouble finding any .357 ammo because nobody alive or dead is carrying the right caliber. I know I get a lot from OWB, but I'm not ready to vist Big MT just yet. Is there a place other than vendors where I can find plenty of these?

Other than vendors, your best bet is to craft it. Unless you get lucky off of a powder ganger or something. At higher levels most enemies aren't using weapons that use that type of ammo

.357 is all over the place. Powder Gangers, raiders of any stripe, Legion, many types of NPC goons carry them. The absolute best place to get them is from Dead Money. The .357 vending machine code will, at the conclusion of the DLC, net you in the neighborhood of 6000 rounds if you focus on collecting chips.

EDIT: Not to mention the Sierra Madre vault contains as many as 2000 rounds itself (based on Luck).

Occasional. They're not a reliable source; the only constant source is vendors, which you can just kill stuff and loot it to trade for it.

Old World Blues and Dead Money, plus the usual vendors: Gun Runners for everyone, Khan armourer once you did a quest for them, and the Hoover quartermaster if you are buddies with the NCR.

You can get infinite amount 357. rounds from Sierra Madre vending machines, provided you have 357. Rounds holotape, and lots of Sierra Madre chip which you can craft with perk.

I'm going to second that vote for the Khans and the NCR quartermaster. You want bullets? They got bullets. Save your Madre chips for stims and repair kits.

Otherwise, Vendertron and the merchants at the 188 usually have a wide variety of bullets, but they won't have hundreds or thousands the way the Khans and quartermaster do.

Weapon Repair Kits can easily make you enough money to buy ten/twenty times the bullets of any type that the same number of SM Chips would get you. Get a couple good weapon drops from a hit squad or fine a Recharger Pistol on one of the Bright Follower corpses, use a few WRKs, and you've got a few thousand caps' worth of loot to trade for ammo.
