.223 VS 5.56
The reason I ask is because of this, the regular 5.56 has regular stats, BUT the .233 has .90 damage, with a .80 damage multipler, meaning you can overall, not per bullet, shoot more rounds out of your gun with .223 rounds. So I wanted to know, who if anyone, uses .233 over 5.56 in some cases where they don't want to decay their gun as much.

As a general rule I prefer target damage to weapon decay, so I will use the match 5.56 over .233, at least now that the game is fully patched.

Weapon decay is not really enough of an issue - even on hardcore with the Trait that increases decay in exchange for increased damage *and* using PN with the decay settings set to increase rate of decay and the malus due to low condition. Add in the *plentiful* number of guns you'll scavenge ofs corpses or find in boxes.

So, overall, i would go for increased damage over slowing decay.

Plus - you'll find far more 5.56 NATO than .223 Rem. Pretty much all the enemies with dual ammo weapons will be carrying the more powerful ammo in their inventory.

Since DT exists in the game, it is generally better to have higher damage per shot than pure dps.

I use surplus/alternate ammo extensively. Types like .223 is really good when you're out hunting animals.
