Scrap metal

I accidently had to kill old lady gibson after failing to stealth kill Rey for Rex's quest.
However, I want a steady supply of scrap metal for hand loading.
Does anyone know a decent place to get a steady supply of scrap metal?
Or what type of bullet has the best Lead-to-value Ratio?

you could've just asked for the brain... Also you can juts go back before you killed old lady gibson. Or just kill rey and then run without killing, wait a couple of days and she will be fine

1, It was a long time back in the game, I'm not doing it over again
2, I was trying to stealth kill to avoid paying the caps

thats why you gotta save regularly. anywho, if you're alright with using console commands you could just revive her with it, notice, you won't be able to get acheivements after that. The command is simply revive.

you can just go back to het shack and use the console command. Unless her body despawned

Can we get off the lady gibson subject and get to whether there is a constant supply of Lead/Scrap metal in the wasteland?

For scrap metal probably the robots in old world blues.

for lead, probably any of the weapon shops. contreas stocks like 3000 rounds of 12.7 which break into 28 lead each

.357 breaks into 14 lead each and you can get that from the vending machine after dead money about 552 every 72 hours apparently

5 mm is 11 each

12 gauge is 37 lead each

20 gauge is 26 gauge each.

what I'm getting at is there are a few places with a LOT of ammo.

Contreas, Hoover dam, Great Khan's armory off hand. which you can break for lead

The only respawning robots I know of are the 3 mr steels in new vegas steel. you are best off going to a weapon shop like the ones I mentioned. I checked all 3 in my game, Contreas has 2200 rounds of 12.7 and 1100 rounds of .303.

The Khans had about 300 .50 MG and piles of various other weapons in the hundreds range.

the Hoover dam however had pretty much the mother load. easily 50.000 rounds of breakable ammo 600 rounds of .50 MG several varieties of ammo in the 2-5000 range of supply.

So yeah, Hoover dam quartermaster bardon is where I'd go for ammo to break into Lead.

Just go to a raider camp and loot everything, then sell it. The Viper encampment near Novac for example. It's very easy to earns tons of money in Vegas.

The Repconn place (with the jason bright ghouls) has TONS of scrap metal and random other crafting things.

Also, with the honest hearts DLC you can turn forks and knives, pots and pans and such into scrap metal.

Go to any Fiend territory. Kill any of their patrols. They have usually 1-3k worth of stuff on them.
And this is the sub-optimal method compared to milking OWB.
