Vault 13 Canteen OP?
In my opinion the Vault 13 Canteen pre-order item is too strong, especially in hardcore mode, where you get your -25 H20 sips.
What would you think if something similar appears in Fallout 4 as a preorder bonus?
Would that influence your decision where to buy the game or would you say you will wait until the GOTY edition release?

I plan on buying the Collector's Edition or whatever... assuming it's in my price range

Nope.

And if you think its OP, you can simply edit the script in the GECK to fix it.

It doesn't help that much. The only time I notice it is during the ending slideshows.

it doesn't help because it seldomly kicks in enough times to even make it worth it.

On vanilla values it is OP. Makes you search for water every third or fourth in-game day or so instead of about daily.
Don't use it then?

There are a few mods that modify its behaviour. Including a realistic one where you have to refill it.

there is plenty of clean water in New Vegas, dyhrdation isn't really a thing. Goodsprings starts out with the watering hole. theres the colorado and various lakes, and plenty of radiated water sources. and legion hit squads bring you several bottles at a time. oh and the cactus fruit thats everywhere.
