Soooo...how long it actually should take to beat NV ?
howlongtobeat.com says that the main story takes around 30 hours. Main + extra - 60 hours

How does that place me when I finished the game in...19 hours ? It was basically Main + extra because I did some other side quests. I finished at level...16 ? or 17.

I'm not sure if it should be that fast (considering I wasnt doing any speed run or such and it was my first playthrough).

Either the site is wrong (tho the hour is "blue" which means that its fairly accurate measurement) or I unconsciously rushed the game somehow

I don't know if you know, but if you skip all of fallout 1 and 2, you can beat those games in under an hour each, too.

You didn't do any quests, so you beat the game at low level and in no time at all. What's the actual question here?

Yes, that would be it.

You think so ?

Thats...weird. I remember that F3 took me a lot longer to beat and basically I was playing it the same way - no rush, walk here, walk there, talk to this guy, talk to that guy, do this quest and that quest etc etc

Perhaps the NV main line is much easier to complete than F3 one ? Especially that now when I think of it, the NV map seems much smaller than F3 one

Or I just picked the fast way when there are other ways that would require more time to finish them

Like with most games of this type you will get out of it what you put into it. Yes, you can rush through and complete the critical path in 20 hours or so. You can also take your time and complete it in four times that length. Depends on you.

I see. Afaik Skyrim took me around 80-90 hours to complete and I was playing it in the exactly same manner

So it looks like I picked the fast way to finish the game even tho I didnt really knew about it. Tho it seemed like I had a lil bit too low level thorugh the most of the game. ED-E was practically one-two shooting enemies that I had to shoot for a while in the early game. After he got his damage upgrade...well, he was doing most of the job :P.

But yea, seems that I had too low level. At the last fight I got mashed all the time by Legion, most of the time whenever I shoot sm1 the DT shield appeared. Not to mention that when NCR came, I barely managed to rush to cover before the ranger would kill me (well, then those Security bots mk2 took the NCR guys out)

Well, I guess that when F4 will come, I shouldnt do a main line quest right away after the start. Or I can only hope that it will be somewhat longer/harder/more level dependant than in NV :)

Well, given your achievements it seems you've only experienced a fraction of the game's content. You seem to have ignored most of the side quests and went straight for the Dam with the Independent route. Explore. Talk to NPCs. Don't rush from A to B to C in such a businesslike manner. This game, despite it's appearance and first-person gameplay, isn't very much like Skyrim or Fallout 3 at all.

The problem I had with the "exploring" part was the awful, literally awful character speed. Jesus, I couldnt stand it. The guy is "running" so slow that it was a pain. Later (read - around 16-17 hrs of gameplay) I just had to use a console command to increase speed (I used 150) because the part of walking here and there was just boring and running between NPC's/locations to do a quest was just annyoying

EDIT: Also, the Hardcore mode achievement seems to be bugged, I have no idea why I got it

Well, then sounds like this game isn't for you. Best of luck to you in finding a game you enjoy.

You know, I think that new Vegas isn't really your kind of game. Maybe you should go back to your teenage love affair with fallout 3.

It's probably for the best.

Wut ?

I smell a typical boyo spitting acid here and there because he doesnt know how to discuss politely

Shush, away you go
Vita, Mortis, Careo Jun 27, 2015 @ 11:29am
What are you talking about? I was very polite. I can be impolite if you wish, but that will be your choice, not mine.
KafarPL Jun 27, 2015 @ 11:29am
Im talking about the guy above, not you :)

Also, its not like "the game isnt for me". I liked it. I just disliked the horrible run speed :). You see a location, you run towards it...and you run...and run...and two days later you finally arrive :P

Run speed honestly isn't that bad, but it can get on my nerves too sometimes. There's a sprint mod to take care of that, though.
KafarPL Jun 27, 2015 @ 11:36am
Yea, I saw it, but after all fiddling with the mods I've already installed, I just decided that increasing the speed to 150% will be the "easier" way around it :)

Also, forgot to mention that, after a while of playing I decided that my char will be a tough guy. And I've decided that I will never put my weapon down and give it away if someone will ask.

Yeah well, you probably realize how it went :P. Pretty much I've killed everyone whenever sm1 asked me to give away the weapons....soo...many ppl died in casinos...and in various factions

I don't understand this constant complaining about running speed. You can run from one end of the entire world map to the other in like ten minutes.
