I cant download nexus mods with the nexus mod manager. Anyone else having this problem?
I just got a new computer, so I'm going to install all the graphics mods my old laptop couldn't handle. But, I can't download any mods with the nexus mod manager. I click the file, the little popup with the loading cirlce comes up, then it goes away but no downloads que in the manager. I'm still waiting to hear back on their forums but thought maybe one of you guys would know of a fix/workaround.

Are you logged into nexus? You have to be to use NMM for downloads.

When you do download, always go to the mods files tab and pick which file or files you want. With some mods you must download from the files section or NMM won't work.

yea I am logged in, in both my browser and NMM. And yea, I'm clicking "download with manager" for the specific files I want.

"In other news, a lot of people have noticed that the "Download With Manager" button is not working for them on the site." http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/news/12345/?

ahhh so it will work with firefox or IE. Time to download Firefox.

Then my guess is that you are trying to use NMM to download a mod that is not compatible with NMM and has to be manually downloaded and installed. Manual downloads are .rar files and 7-zip.org has the best free .rar file extractor. Once you download and unpack the files to Docs or your desktop either copy and paste or drag and drop the mods files into your New Vegas game folder, in the "data" subfolder. C drive/Files 86/Steam/Steam apps/common/Fallout New Vegas/data. *The only thing taht goes into just the main game folder and not the data subfolder is NVSE[new vegas script extender]. All regular mods go into the data subfolder.

Yeah use Firefox!!!

no I'm using win 8.1 and chrome, which is the only combination that makes that happen. The newest version of Nexus Mod Manager, which I didn't have, has a fix for it. So I can keep using chrome too!

If anyone stumbled apon this discussion and is looking to fix it right click nexus mod manager hit run as administrator then go to settings and untick Associate with NXM URLs hit ok and then go back to settings and retick it and then hit ok and it should fix it.

Whoever you are... You are a godsend. I relocated NMM to my D drive to reduce in game lag when it loaded textures for mods (as my FO4 install was on my D drive) and it broke my downloads from the site. You just provided me the info to fix my problem. Thank you.
