cheaper prices mod?
quick question, is there a mod that greatly lowers the prices for weapons in the game so i don't have to rip my legs off to cover the extra cost? if so what is it called? i would rather not crack the game to give myself more caps or just spawn the weapon.

Why Is It So Hard To Pay For The Original Prices?

it's actually really easy to meet these weapon quotas, you shouldn't need to lower them. just sell some stuff in place of it. i never find myself out of caps (pick up all prewar money, pencils, and cig packs, cartons, and singles you find, to sell. it's also handy to sell extra chems such as Psycho, Turbo, Fixer, Hydra, Jet, Vodka, Whiskey, Wine (dont pick up beer unless you are taking it for a quick stregnth boost, it's only worth 1 cap ))

Money making is very easy in NV. By the time the player reaches Vegas, provided he/she plays rather frugally, there should be more than enough money in caps and leftover gear for at least 3 credit checks. By that point the rate which you earn caps will just about double, maybe triple if you have a good barter build.

GRA weapons are going for up to 20,000 caps, i heard rasing barter helps but leveling heavily in one stat is a pain. ill still do it if i have to, just wanted to avoid heavy grinding/looting to buy one gun.

Even with a low barter skill, a single 10mm Smg can sell for over 1500c, and there a number of places where they're dropped in the world. (one of the vaults has several as I recall.)

Not to mention with high Luck you can earn large amounts of money from gambling.

Caps are the biggest non-issue in the game next to Hardcore Needs.

Why not just raise Barter, and scavenge weapons and armor for caps?

How about smuggle all the gold bars from the Dead Money DLC and use that to pay for all the weapons you want.

You can use Project Nevada, if you wish so. Although it is a total rebalance, so you need the Project Nevada Extra Options separate mod to reset it to vanilla New Vegas, and change only the merchant behaviour yourself in its options.

As for vanilla, many weapons have great value and good price/weight ratio. Use the Fallout wiki (any of them), they have a both of these numbers in the weapon tables for quick guide and comparison. Drugs also have no weight and bring a pretty penny.
The best vanilla ones are probably the 12.7 mm weapons. The pistol can spawn on any Khan in the canyon or trooper at the dam. The SMG is common in HH and LR at high level. LR has the added bonus for bowie knives, an item with 1000 caps pre pound.
Or you can take the somewhat less effective but safer route and milk OWB. The harnesses can carry plasma defenders, one of the best price/weight items in the game, and the lobotomites often use saturnite fists, which you can superheat with the toaster to increase the price.
The last tactic is to get legion assassins spawn. On level 15+ they have increased chance to use trail carbines. The only advantage of this over DLCs is that you can do it on the normal world space and that the assassins have fixed spawn spots, yo it's easier to force encunters in real time. Still inferior to OWB.

If you do the Dead Money DLC, there are ways to get all gold bars legit. They give anywhere from 100 to 370k worth of caps.
