How to use a ps3 controller with it
So i installed motioninjoy and did what i needed and the drivers are working (i tested the vibration and buttons) so they are picking up. im just wandering how i can get NV to pick it up as a controller so i can play it. Any help?

Make sure you launch motionjoy first before launching the game. I'll need to check but I think I had more success with DS3TOOL

edit.. DS3tool and motionjoy are one and the same

yeah it took me abit to figure out that they was te same...upon installing it all i was doing was looking in the motioninjoy zip and seeing if it installed a launcher but come to find out it was under the DS3 name. but ive tried launching DS3 before playing Fallout NV and some other games like Project Zomboid. IN Project zomboid it picked the controller up and some and i mean SOME keys were binded but not many. probably around 3. and i assumed fallout nv would pick up the controller but sadly it didnt and fallout nv is one of my favorite games. thank you for your help

If you have a PS4 controller it's better. The new DS4windows tool is much better and don't think you need to be online either. Plus the touchpad works as a crappy mouse too :D

yeah sadly i dont have a ps4 controller. i was using a 360 controller and it worked flawless without using any added software or drivers. but it seems windows doesnt like the PS controllers. plus i like the feel of the PS controllers

Wow, Starbug is actually trying to be helpful for once.

Anyway...

FONV won`t pick up a DS3 properly, it wants a XBOX360 trashpad, I.e XInput. So you`ll just have to check the little "XBOX360 controller emulator" option in MotioninJoy, hit enable, and it`ll work. You`ll still have to map the trashpad buttons to a DS3 of course, but considering they`re laid out virtually identically that shouldn`t be a problem.

BTW, there IS a local use version of MotioninJoy.

Just ignore this guy, he stalks me pretty regularly. I could write something mean about him, but that would be beneath both myself and OP wouldn't be any further along.

Why don't people just buy a PC controller.

Why bother ? Spend upwards of 100 Euros just to get the same functionality but slightly easier to configure ?

90% of games that are better to play with a controller can`t really take advantage of more than 16 buttons, 2 sticks anyway. There`s dedicated devices such as flightsticks, fightstick and pedals and wheel for the rest.

Maybe, but that WAS your very first comment on this entire forum that wasn't trying to shit all over New Vegas or go into an argument with someone.
Maybe there is hope yet.

Thanks for your observation. I assume you must be angry about something or other. Otherwise you'd have pretended to make an on-topic post instead of just zeroing in on me.

Maybe I should play victim then do a dramatic flounce thread!

I use a logitec F310 controller
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-940-000110-Gamepad-F310/dp/B003VAHYQY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1446135468&sr=8-1&keywords=logitech+f310
for all my gaming and emulation needs.
It's not as precise as my Xplop 360 controller in the sticks but at least I don't have to replace the batteries every 3 days.
Besides. If you want precise, unless you love using VATS all the time, then the keyboard and mouse is the way to go when playing FoNV.

That is because he is one of those trolls that comes to a forum thinking he has to prove his superiority in the pecking order, or let everyone know he is the ALPHA AshHole, and then once everyone hates him he changes tactics to make all the newcomers think he is a saint.

well i was using a wired 360 controller so i never had battery problems. but im just trying to get the ps3 controller working because thats the only spare controller i have now and im not going to go buy a pc or a 360 controller when i have a perfectly good ps3 controller that works as well. ive heard good things about the controller you use but like i said no point in me buying one when i have a ps3 controller and cable
