Crashing near Nipton

Whenever I get near Nipton, fallout crashes, that means I can't get to the Mojave Drive-in to start OWB, any ideas? I've tried verifying the cache.

load an earlier save and see if you still crash @ nipton , if you dont then go indoors somewhere and sleep for 4 days to rest the assets in the game , if somethings bugged out it should reset .
if the older save fails too , then you probably have an error related to a mod

No dice, none of my mods conflict with anything, I'd really love to start OWB, any suggestions?

There's no vanilla game bug that causes CTD in Nipton. You have some type of mod conflict. Try disabling any mods you have that changes or adds anything to that area. Even a container could cause it to crash Or any mod that adds extra creatures.

Edit; There is a random vanilla game bug that can cause CTD when you are playing in Hardcore mode and try to activate the satellite to start OWB.

That bug actually crashes you after it attempts to teleport you into OWB world space, but the character has already left the Nipton cell by then. When it does not crash outright, you can see the character model in the patient gown in blue hell next to the door leading to the Sink.

As for OP's trouble, it has to be a mod, yes. We cannot really help more than that, even with a load order.

I /do/ have More Monsters mod, but It's never crashed me before with it.

I'm also playing on easy, I know it's terrible, but it's my first playthrough and I'm not /that/ good at it, so I'll try uninstalling more monsters.

So you are playing on easy… but added one of the most brutal difficulty mods in existence.

not true , something broke , and a blanket "their all good " doesnt cut it . it doesnt have to be a conflict , mods do break , especially those that are script based , and those that add elements to the game

Do you have DYNAVISION installed, because that's what caused mine to crash near Nipton.

I experienced crash near nipton too. It crashed every time i came near that powder gangster who win the lottery. I kill him from distance and no crash anymore.

I know there's some sort of bug monster in nipton with the monster mod installed, maybe that's causing it?
