You need to go to a location in freeside called union station, located near the factory where you get the sexbot and the place where the NCR is giving their citizens food.
You need to have 100 pre war money, but if you have a science of 50 (I think it’s 50) you can make it give you free tickets.
After that get on the train and throw the switch to head to dc.
One thing to note
You will have to complete a quest in Columbus circle to activate some generators. After that you can travel to and fro from either wasteland.
Do the quest for Zimmer, disable invisible walls on the world map, and follow him back to the Commonwealth.
Fact: Discussing FNV mods in the FNV forum is on topic.
Fact: Discussing specific parts of FNV mods, quests, etc., is on topic in the FNV forum.
Fact: TTW imports FO3 into FNV, making FO3 a mod of FNV.
Opinion: FO3 is "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥".
Forum users should not be brow beaten or bullied or threatened by this by people who insist that their asinine opinions should be rule of law on forums. Don't like it? Move on. Simple. Try not to be a sphincter.
tbh I don't understand this ♥♥♥♥ attitude.
I think NV is a better game than FO3. Not just in terms of writing and story, but from a gameplay and mechanics standpoint as well - that's precisely why I play FO3 content using TTW.
Bringing the flat-out improvements from NV to FO3 is a complete and total admission that FNV has significant advantages.
On top of that, without Fallout 3, FNV doesn't exist. Period. We'd all still be reading Van Buren fanfic or crying about microtransactions in an Interplay-built Fallout MMO.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to expand NV's content, whether that's with FO3 or the Frontier or New California. All major content mods have their ups and downs, their proponents and detractors.
It's all Fallout. Even silly online grindathons like FO76 are still Fallout, and there is still some artistic merit in what they've done (and look at my playtime in FO76 vs other FO games - I'm by no stretch an apologist for that game).
TTW content is not FO3. It's obvious if you look at the devlogs for it. The addition of so much cut content, reconstruction of areas, and even just the skill and speech checks from NV, fundamentally fixes (IMO - some would just consider them "changes") a lot of what was truly bad about Fallout 3.
Just put more than 15 seconds of thought into things. That's what NV superfans like to say is better about NV, right? It requires and embraces a more thoughtful approach, right? Apply your opinions about why NV is the superior game to your posts, maybe.
A generous assumption.
This "attitude" is a response to people who break this social contract, and post things wherever they want. Since we are not graced with moderation here and nothing is done about it, the only avenue open for people is to complain about it. That ends up being as annoying as the thing being complained about, sure, but I do have a degree of sympathy for it.
Which game is the "best" game is completely irrelevant, so people should stop bringing that into it.
As for TTW, I get that it's an edge case, but if you need to post something about Fallout 3 when you're playing TTW, it is still my opinion that you should post it in the Fallout 3 forum with a disclaimer that you are playing TTW.
But TTW is a total conversion, so neither place is really ideal. Ideally, TTW should have it's own forum, but you don't just get a new Steam forum because you want it. Maybe a sub forum for FNV could be made, if a query was put forward to an administrator. But people are generally bad at using those, and since this forum is generally unmoderated, you'd still have a mess without anyone to enforce it.
In summary: Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 are not appropriate topics for this forum, period. As for TTW, use your best judgment.
I completely agree that straight up FO3 content doesn't belong here. That goes equally for unhinged rants like the one above yours.
Equally, Fallout 4 content doesn't belong here.
But in any discussion where those are legitimately tied to NV, as in TTW or lore discussion or gameplay comparison, they can have a place here.
Like it or not, Fallout NV exists as part of a continuum of Fallout. If some of the ludicrous fans want to ignore that, then maybe they can discuss Outer Worlds here instead.
Edit: Just an amusement, the fringe essayist above you has a "what I dislike" section on his profile which includes Steam forum elitists. Which is absolutely hilariously ironic.
Edit 2: What about when F4NV comes out? That's Fallout 4 content, but since it's a remake of FONV, will it be acceptable to have comparative discussion? Questions about NV quests/factions/characters but as played in F4NV? It's such a gray area when modding is part of the equation.
LOL, that is hysterical. I skimmed that WoT and found it just so much smug, self-important, insufferable verbal diarrhea I didn't even bother.
When (if) F4NV releases, it absolutely belongs in FO4 forums, The engine, not the content, determines the "appropriate" place, imo. No, there may be quest or faction questions that arise, and in that case, I think it's perfectly acceptable to ask. It's also perfectly acceptable to politely suggest that players on the FNV forum might be better able to answer those particular types of questions.
I take back everything I said. Post whatever yall want in here. I was only trolling anyway.
