Creepiest stuff in the game
What are some of your favorite creepy moments/places/characters in the game? Some of mine are:
-Vault 22, all that greenery and those creatures lurking within - I guess it's all the pretty flowers seem creepy when juxtaposed with the stark barren Mohave.
-Quarry Junction - scared the crap out of me the first time I went - early in the game, I ignored the deathclaw warnings, and of course got torn limb from limb, went back a couple weeks (and several levels) later, still just as creepy, but at least I was prepared before getting torn limb from limb. They did a great job with that location.
-Searchlight, the irradiated town - and that quest there
-Hidden Valley, even though the only real threat there are the bark scorpions. It must have been all the dust blowing or something, but the first time I went there it gave me the heebie-jeebies.
-Nightkin - aside from their being crazy as ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rats, I find their looks even creepier than super mutants. But then again, Lily has been by far my favorite companion - she cracks me up when she says: "Leo's gonna give you such a paddling you won't be able to sit down for a week!"
-I found Tabitha very funny as well, but Black Mountain as a location is very creepy before doing that mission.
-All of the sewer dwellers especially Red Lucy
-That one lake with all the feral ghouls (can't remember the name of the location)
-Legion's crucified victims - they just hang there barely alive - I usually just shoot 'em and put them out of their misery unless I can untie them. Too bad I don't get good karma for that. :)
-The Boomers' museum - because "Savages"

Every single time I pick up the Wasteland Survival Guide, I see a ghastly image of Moira.

I use this mod for that. :) - nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/47966

OT: I don't think there's any truly creepy stuff in the game. Vault 22 and 11 maybe comes closest. And maybe the face designs of some NPCs.

That's just down to the engine. All Bethesda games have that potato faced villager syndrome.

The NE quadrant of the map, especially the area around the Devil's Throat.

While that's true, I'm not referring to potato faced villager syndrome here. It's well-known fact that Bethesda characters are generally ugly, but a lot of the designs of generic characters in FNV, and even a few of the significant side-characters, look horrible due to outright negligence in their creation. Wrong skin tones, wrong hair colors, twisted face features, etc. This is probably one of the areas that didn't receive prime consideration due to the time constraints they had to deal with.

Just take a look at this: http://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/images/130/1155425-1403540056.jpg

Yeah I agree, the faces look like they're all based on the same three or four people. I wish they would implement a system like that in Saints Row. I felt like I had a lot more control over the looks of the characters. And you can actually orbit the camera around so you can see the face.

ewww. yeah that sounds creepy. Never noticed that, but now I'm going to have to pay attention next time I find one. Is that just when you pick it up, or is it when you "read" it?

As for the base game, there were a few moments I found to be creepy or shocking; like reading Dermots diary or Vault 11.
As for the DLC, I found Dead Money to be outright horrifying the first time I played through it; the ghost people creeped me the hell out and cornered me and hunted me down like a wounded animal, plus there's the eerie atmosphere and depressing backstory of the Sierra Madre. Also my first playthrough of Old World Blues, when I realized how dark all of this seemingly comical stuff actually is. I find New Vegas to be pretty effective in that regard, there is alot of "fridge horror", it's more subtle than Fallout 3's grimmdark attempts at being a horror game.

Hmmm, the first time i put together what Jeannie May did, creepy, the first time that old guy chases you down out of nowhere to explain the Blue Star caps, uber-creepy how he just comes out of nowhere, i thought it was some kinda set-up... the entire enviroment and feel of the Sierra Madre, metric pant loads of creepy goodness... this game is fantastic for creepin' ya out, i love walkin' into a situation and find myself sayin' whaaaaaaat.

Am I the only one that doesn't get creeped out?
I find "Survival Horror" games to be as tame as the frist Friday the 13th (by todays standards), even movies of today are nothing but wimpy jump scares.

I've heard a quote a long time ago that goes; "Those who are easily fightened have a lot of secrets."

I find Vault 34 to be terrifying. You don't know, there could be a Ghoul around that corner or nothing. Its also the rusted walls and the soundtrack "Vault Of The Future" From Fallout 1 really gets to me. But the best part is the reward for all of this, its overstocked armory.

Also Cazadors they are twice as fast as a Deathclaw and also deliver a deadly sting. Their only minor weakness is their moderate heath.

For me the Broc Flower Cave pretty much summed up the creep factor. Darkness punctuated by the geen radioactive glow, packs of prowling giant rats, empty barrels waiting to be kicked into noise makers to sound the rat dinner bell. But the loot ... ah yes! The Ratslayer Rifle tucked away in the Prospector's lair buried in the darkness. Once I found Ratslayer the rodent retribution was marvelous!!!

On another subject I agree with Kellfyfoil ... Lily is TERRIFIC!!! I still laugh when the 'evil' Leo half of her schizo-grandmother nightkin personality wreaks bloody havoc on some hapless legion assassination squad! I think she would make an absolutely wonderfull Player Character as a sort of 'Carrie Nation' type of axe swinging femminist to clean up the New Vegas casinos and restore order at the Hoover Dam.

Some of the creepier stuff is where they just hint at stuff and let your imagination fill in the blanks. There's a house where you find a skeleton with .22 next to it, and tiny skeletons on the beds upstairs. Another where two spooning skeletons are on a bed with empty syringes on the night stand. The various vaults where the experiment and their results are told to traces left in the vault, logs on the computers and scribbled notes. My imagination is pretty good at creeping me out.

Something popping up in front of a riot shotgun is mincemeat, not scary...
